I bought this as a base for a twin mattress. I was pleasantly surprised at the height, and the number of slats to provide the support. I bought a mattress and truly you do not need a boxspring with this base. The mattress does not slide around on top of it, it's very sturdy, makes no noise at all. It's fairly easy to put together by yourself, although I had to lean some of the assembled pieces together while attaching other assembled pieces. It's not super easy by yourself, but I was able to do it. Assembly only requires the provided Allen wrench, directions were pretty clear (all of the pieces were clearly labeled). I love this bed frame it is one of the only ones I could find that sits high enough for proper under-bed storage. It is very strong and sturdy, with no squeaking or movement of the bed when turning, you can add a headboard if you want, We have not found one we want for our room just yet but it is nice to know you can. This bedframe is excellent. When you get the box it is compact and heavy. It is high quality with detailed instructions, photos and sturdy parts. After assembly, it is not heavy and easy to slide around to adjust. I would recommend getting furniture sliders for the 6 legs. Use a hammer to tap the rails into their slots. You have 16.5" of clearance from the floor to the rail underside to store boxes and tote bins. The 18" is to the topside of the rail. No squeaks and very solid. I highly recommend. ... show more

It was delivered a day early, which I really appreciated. It was pretty easy to assemble. (2 people) It is 18 inches as listed. So far, it is sturdy, but I'm writing this review about an hour after assembly. I will update after more time.

I bought this 18” Queen size frame last week. I was very excited with this new bed frame with all the storage space underneath, and it will be so much easier to clean under the bed. I sleep sooo good now with this new frame, my mattress is much more comfortable now on this frame compared to the box spring I had before.
