Get a 2 foot piece of schedule 40 6 inch diameter. Attach sandpaper to pipe. This will give you the right angle. A slight hollow grind profile makes the blade super sharp. Use the grit as needed. Silicon carbide 320 to start, works for me. Try it. It will blow your mind.

really simple tool to make sure you get a good consistent edge on planer and jointer blades. The tool is sturdy aluminum, even with the hollow section it has a good weight and feel to it. I was able to get a nice sharp edge on both my jointer and planer blades. The six inch version is good for ~6in blades, I would probably recommend the larger version for tackling larger planer knives though. ... show more
