What can I say? This AC looked so nice I bought it. Oops!! It's definitely not a good investment. The on/off button on the Control Panel seems to work fine. It's the only button I can get to work. The remote works but it's the size of a credit card and has no display. I have to stand right in front of the unit when I change the settings so I can see. The labels and lights are so small you can barely see them otherwise. I realize when you turn an AC on it starts in ECO Mode. Aside from that my last one saved my settings. This one doesn't. You have to reset your desired temp and fan speed every time. Speaking of resetting the temp, every time you change the fan speed or the mode, the temp setting changes. I've noticed a few different ones, 77, 78, and 80. I usually have it set at 72-73. One time I switched the fan from high to medium and the display read "05". There's nothing to explain that code, the fan was working but I shut it down and unplugged it for a bit. It hasn't happened since. Finally (so far), the 8 way directional air flow isn't.Yes, the louvers are split in half so some can face one direct, the rest another. The louvers are also supposed to also go in an upward direction. They don't. The part just flops back down. There's nothing to hold it or latch on to something. I'm a senior and paid someone to install this 3 days ago. I have to call Amazon about returning it, but have to figure out how to get it out of the window and a new unit in. I doubt they'll refund the $100 I paid someone and I don't have that much to pay out again. I wouldn't recommend this air conditioner to anyone. ... show more
