  • The nicest low cost lights you will find
TL;DR - Not bad. Probably the best entry level lights you are going to find in this price range. Let's get one thing out of the way. These are cheap. These are the lowest cost led with diffuser lights you can get that throws out this much light. The LED housing is plastic, the buttons are mostly plastic, the knobs are largely plastic. I'm not saying cheap is a bad thing, but you know the path you are going down when you are shopping for studio lights under 100$. Now, all that being said, these do the trick if you need some big fat light thrown in the direction of your project. The stands are sturdy and pretty common in this price range if you have bought low-end lights or stands before. If you have bought and photography gear off amazon or ebay in the past 5 years you probably have one of these light stands already. They work great for a multitude of things. The lights themselves are nice and bright and have a built-in plastic cover already on them. They have a handy-dandy potentiometer to adjust how much light you want and a switch to turn it from off, to useless orange light to bright white. My only big gripe is the diffusers. They are functionally fine but are hard to assemble quickly. It's like when you buy a 20$ tent. Yeah, you can sleep in it and it technically is a "tent" but if you bought the 100$ tent it will be easier to put up, take down, and have better construction. ... show more

  • A few misleading statements in this listing
I gave it 4 stars based on the unimpressive fact that there's really not that many options for dimmable softbox lights. So, the fact that this seller is offering dimmable softboxes when only few people are is their biggest selling-point. The listing states: "Adjust brightness(from 1%-100%) freely by turning the dial." The reality and truth is, 1% is nowhere NEAR what you'd expect 1% to actually be. 1% is more like 30%. For my needs, I really needed the lights to be dimmable all the way down where 0% would be black / no light and 1% would be just slight barely any light (barely noticeable) and then adjust from there. Control over the brightness is what I was after. The diffuser material was too bright still and I had to wrestle with hot-spots in my limited area. The fan is also relatively loud if you have the lights set on white LED and the knob cranked to high. I saw some answers saying the light doesn't have a fan... but it does! It definitely does so if you are recording videos, be cognizant of this fact. Chances are though, you won't need to turn the light up that bright anyways. For the price, these are great lights, great value, and worth it. I think the information in this listing give you untrue information, or a different opinion of the truth. ... show more

  • Luces defectuosas
... show more

  • Cheap, but usable
These are super budget lights. They are very light weight. Every part of it from the stand, the light, and even the power brick has almost no weight to it. The soft-boxes are a pain to put on. Easier to do with two people (one person to hold up the other end). My biggest gripe is the lowest lighting level is... 30%? Which, may not be fair because I put these right behind my desk up against a wall. I later learned that you want lights light these farther back from the subject. I ended up getting different lights, and upon learning that, my current lights are actually brighter than these were. So for best result, with any studio lights, put some distance between the lights and the subject. If you want to spend more and want to control the color temperature the GVM panels are good. The Neewer panels - harder to match color temperature as different light intensities (GVM does it for you). These lights (the EMart's) - it's 5500k or 2700k - super easy. You just fine tune it - which may be OK - 5500k is daylight balanced and you can adjust white balance if need be. ... show more

  • Lights do their job. The cheap electrical adaptors seem like a fire hazard.
I've had this set for around 5 years. It worked well for lighting my livestream set. Had some issues with fan noise and some flickering but they worked. Recently both adapters failed within a few weeks of each other. The power adapters and wires seem very low quality. The label on each one has horrible spelling mistakes throughout and both adapters had plastic beads from manufacturing rattling inside since I bought them. When they eventually failed, both emitted signals strong enough to cause audio interference in wired speakers and made audible buzzing and popping noises. an autopsy of the fried adapters revealed melted plastic on the casing and a scorch mark on the board. ... show more

  • For occasional photographer... maybe. Not even for an amateur level
Dont get me wrong, its kinda quality build product, alright. Its easy to assemble and it looks nice. However, the light is the most important thing in photography, and this thing just won't deliver the needed light. Period. Not in any way nor any scenario, this thing could be your main light. If you're an amateur trying to become a slightly better photographer, or even a pro -- forget about it, and do yourself a huge favor and buy a good pro equipment. Always. You wont believe the difference, the pro equipment can do. This thing is basically a pain and a money lost situation for amateurs trying to become better photographers. ... show more
