  • Working Great!
Color: 1 receiver and 1 sensor
I did not know how this was going to work out after reading how it was supposed to work. However it has been a couple of years since I have owned the driveway alarm, and it is still working after going through a few seasons of harsh rains and snows and freezing temps. Now you have to keep in mind that the sensor is going to pick up flying insects, birds, squirrels climbing the tree that I have it mounted on, and the occasional falling leaf or blowing debree in the wind. The sensor is sensitive picks up almost anything that goes i front of it. I always know when wildlife is around and it always picks up any vehicle that comes up my road. Of course this is what you are wanting it to do, and it does it very well. You just have to be willing to deal with all the other items it can detect. For instance , I have had a lot of flying insect or blowing debree false alarms, but better that it alerts you than not be working correctly. You can't program it to only pick up automobiles and ignore animals, its going to detect it all, even unwanted humans invading your property. The reciever does have a the ability to adjust the volume of the alarm and you can add a couple of more sensor/transmitters to it with different sounds so you will know which sensor is going off around your property. It would come in handy to place one in the back yard to detect intruders. I am just now doing this review and mine is still working very well. At least it is doing well so far. I'm going to be honest and say that I anticipated it to stop working because of harsh weather after a while, but this little alarm system has been doing great. I am thinking of adding another sensor to it. ... show more

  • Great product!
Color: 1 receiver and 1 sensor
I had an issue with the product have a few months of use. The customer support was great, and they sent me a new unit. We use the alarm about 600 or 700 hundred feet from the house and there are trees in the line of sight. It works great and it is really nice to know when someone is coming onto our rural property. • Works perfectly so far/ about 700 ft thru the forest to the house
Color: 1 receiver and 1 sensor
This may not be the least expensive driveway alert system, but it does work well (so far). I installed it about a month ago. In the woods, where my driveway winds through. The leaves are gone, now that it is winter, so there is sunlight. I charged it up via the USB charger before installing it. That is something that is not clear in the description: You can (and probably should) fully charge it before installing outside. It can be charged like any other electrical device that charges via a USB port. Supposedly, even if there is no sunlight available to charge the battery, it will stay operational for many months if you first charge it via USB. The car detection works fine. A few other things get detected -- such as deer (I assume, since I really can't see what is being detected). But the non-car detections have been few. Set-up is easy. You have about 30 alert sounds to choose from, and you have to pick one. You can scroll through them to hear each one before picking. You can change it to use another sound at any time later. The sounds that are provided are a bit limited, and some people will be dissatisfied with the options. I do not like the "ding-dong" doorbell sound -- because it is too confusing to have to distinguish it from my normal doorbell. So, this option is sort of ridiculous in my opinion, when most doorbells have the "ding-dong" sound. There is no simple "buzzer" sound -- which my previous alert had used. I have no need for the "back door", "side yard", etc. pronouncements (which are only useful if you set up multiple detectors.) I just wanted a sound that I could definitely identify as "car driving up my driveway". There are only a few options available, once the stupid ones are eliminated. I picked the "Adams Family" theme song -- which just plays a few bars. It's fine for my purposes. So, this alert system works well, and I can't yet say how well the solar charging works. My down-grading to 4 stars is only because of the limited number of good sound-alert options available. The ability to send signal through the forest is perfectly good at 700 ft (or, it may be more ft). ... show more

  • These work great!
Color: 1 receiver and 1 sensor
We live on 20 acres and have a long, curving driveway. For privacy’s sake, you can’t see our house from the road, which means we also can’t see when someone is here until they’re at the top of our driveway. We can’t always hear if someone drives onto our property and got tired of getting up to check every time one of our dogs barked at a passing bird. I had high hopes but was concerned these wouldn’t work well since we live in the jungle and it rains like 300 days a year. Heavy rains sometimes and I thought for sure the rain, wind, leaves blowing around in the trees would all set these alarms off. Nope, they work like a charm! It took us a couple weeks to get the adjustment for the sensor just right, my husband says they need to be angled just slightly upward to prevent going off for the random animal that passes by...we have wild pigs, mongoose, rats, cats, etc. that would set it off sometimes. Once we got the sensors to stop “seeing” the ground, they only go off when someone walks or drives passed them. Occasionally a bird will fly passed the sensor and set them off, but otherwise we don’t get false alarms from leaves blowing in the wind and they work even in heavy rain. Our neighbor’s black car can get passed the sensor that is farther away when it’s super dark out, but the other sensor always picks up his car. We set up two sensors, one closer to the road and one closer to our house, and we set them to have different “ring tones”. This way we know if the alarms go off in the right order, someone is coming up our driveway. We did this so a random passing animal setting off one sensor wouldn’t have us jumping up to see who was here all the time. Turns out it wasn’t necessary as the animals don’t set them off very often. But it is nice to know if only one alarms sounds, it’s probably nothing. We used the included cord for the alarm speaker to charge the sensors fully before installing them outside. Even on cloudy days they’ve collected enough charge to work through the night. At least we think so since animals kept setting them off at night until we adjusted the sensors correctly. They are super easy to install. The speakers also use batteries so they work if the power goes out. I love this feature as I can carry a speaker out to the greenhouse or elsewhere on the property and still know if someone has come by to visit. It’s also good to know that if someone tries to sneak onto our property in the middle of the night, we would be alerted. ... show more

  • Definitely worth the purchase.
Color: 1 receiver and 1 sensor
I love my driveway alarm. It is the 2nd one we ordered. It definitely works and we have it at the full range, around 1/2 a mile away from the house. I love the upgrade since the first one, lots of alarm sounds to pick from, smaller base to attach to and easier to detach device from plate.

  • range said to be 20-30 feet (selectable) sensor to person, but RF range sensor to alarm is 1/2 mile
Color: 1 receiver and 1 sensor
5 Stars; no big problems since 2019 when I bought 2. I observed any problems with water penetration of units. The plastic did crack eventually at one screw hole. I think that the plastic is slowly deteriorating by UV from the sun; so I suppose ideally one would paint the plastic w/ UV stopper paint. But this is an unusually good consumer product, as it is faithful, the sensor is powered by solar, & the receiver can be powered either with 4 AA batteries or a supplied power supply (5 volt USB type). The same supplied power supply which gives intitial charge to the sensor unit, also will power the alarm units. After initially charging the sensor unit, the built in solar panel provides the rest of the powering for the sensor unit. When I bought this the separate receivers cost about $50, I decided to go ahead & by a 2nd transmitter/receiver combo; they don't list a sensor-transmitter with 2 receivers as a package unfortunately. I bought 2 morerecently & found that the sensor + alarm package was not that much more than buying a separate sensor. At first, I wanted one receiver for inside & one outside to scare off intruders. It would have been more convenient for me if they had included self-tapping sheet metal screws for installation, as what they provided proved not of high enough quality to penetrate easily a pre-drilled hole in a steel fence hollow rod. The first night I installed the sensor at about 2 feet off the ground , it went off apparently for sensing a cat. Then I changed location of the sensor-transmitter, putting it about 5 feet off the ground, and thus far (2 days) have had no known cat activations. The ability to set the transmitter for 4 different chimes lets you use multiple transmitters in different locations with only 1 receiver; the receiver playing the selected chime for the transmitter activated. I set one chime for Lone Ranger Theme (Wm Tell Overture, & the other for 1812 Overture, as they seemed louded & most attention getting). I set a sensor receiver about 4 feet insider my yard gate on the side fence to which the gate is attached, which is about 40 feet from my front door. I put it back a bit since I did not want passing cars to set off the alarm. Then I put the receiver inside my house, on the cross bar of a window, which window has a metal screen (which I did not remove). The alarm faithfully went off inside the house & I can hear it even in a back room of my house. It even reaches attic (like 2nd floor) towards the back of my house (about 36 feet from front of house, maybe 70-80 feet from the driveway sensor, which is down hill to street. So the range of the RF from sensor to alarm is really good for my purpose. I can now hear the alarms when I am in my study on 2nd floor at rear of my home. At the entrance of my driveway, 1812 overture is set off. As person walks up my driveway, Lone Ranger goes off. When they reach the gate of my inner perimeter fence, I get both alarms. So I get an idea as to where the visitor is. Now nobody needs to ring any door bell. Now it is hard for a delivery person to falsely say he came on Sunday with an Amazon delivery & nobody was home (when we were home). These great units remove the need for a door bell. Maybe I will set up an ooga horn to go off at night if somebody enters my castle grounds, but I don't think they make an ooga variety. ... show more

  • Great buy for a long driveway! Great buy for a long driveway!
Color: 1 receiver and 1 sensor
We are loving our new motion sensors from Emacros! This was so easy to set up. It didn't take 5 minutes to figure it out. And it was pretty easy to go out with the screws that they gave us to set it up, to just screw it into some of the wooden posts along the fence line. The whole sensor is on a swivel. So you can move it to the side so you can get to all four screw holes. But it also helps on moving the swivel to aim the motion sensor in the direction you want in at the height that you want. We live on a home with some acreage and we have a long gravel driveway that is more than a quarter mile long. When it goes off, we know an individual is driving up our driveway. The only problem is, when that motion sensor goes off, we are looking to see who this individual is driving up our driveway and being a gravel driveway it takes a while for them to come down and get to my house. And sometimes, we never see a vehicle because it was possibly a deer or something else like that walking in front of it. Only one out of 10 times is it not a vehicle. But we already knew that by having deers, it would set this motion sensor off from time to time. But, to solve both of these problems, we purchased a second motion sensor. And we set it up further down the driveway. This way we know if it's a vehicle, it would set off both motion sensors. Because I don't think a deer is going to walk down my driveway and set off all my sensors. Lol. For people with long driveways, I recommend purchasing at least two sensors. This does an incredible job! Update.... I have 2 in my driveway. 3 years later, neither is working. ... show more

  • Hmmm
Color: 1 receiver and 1 sensor
Works as advertised. Could not be easier to set up, nothing to think about. The receiver is inside the house, in heavy woods, with no direct line of sight, approximately 400+ feet distant from the sending unit AND the receiver is located 12' BELOW the sending unit on the down side of a bluff. No issues. We tested it approximately 800+ feet away (other conditions the same) for 2 days so we knew whether or not to purchase another sending unit... worked flawlessly at that distance also! Senses deer, people and cars at 10' away mounted 42" off the ground (set to high sensitivity). Does not seem to detect people walking at more than 10' from the sending unit. Leaves of trees, bushes and tall grass moving in the wind does not set off an alert. Charged the remote sending unit once (<5 minutes) when we initially set it up and have not had to charge it since despite 2 rainy days and it being partly shaded from direct sun most of the day. In use night and day for 2 weeks now - I'll update this review if something significant changes. Additional thoughts; 1) Would prefer the receiver unit to be smaller, more portable shaped and weather proof so we could more easily carry it with us when we're walking or working on the back part of the 40 acre property. 2) Would prefer the receiver did not have such a large, bright and constantly on indicator light (under the "3" button-just indicates the unit is on). A tiny red LED near the on/off switch would work just fine. 3) Really needs an indicator LED to let a person know at a glance the sending unit is being received by the receiving unit. There is no way to know without 2 people, 1 of them having to walk out to the mounting location. Would prefer the reassurance at a glance, day or night, that the two devices were still connected. 4) Would prefer more attention-grabbing alert-like tones rather than the musical tones the receiver plays to announce. 5) A phone app would be great. 6) Would prefer the driveway alert not include the small screwdriver in the package. Most everyone that will install this themselves already has a screwdriver and if you're paying someone to install it for you the installer should bring their own tools. Deleting the screwdriver would save the earth from one more throw away and lower manufacturing cost that could be passed on to the consumer. Conclusion; This wireless driveway alert does what it says and does it well. My wife and I are very pleased by its functioning, would buy it again and recommend it. We have tried another driveway alert in the past and returned it after a few days - it failed to function at even 40' and was very troublesome to set up. 7/16/2021 Felt compelled to add this footnote. My original review is accurate. I have had the devices for several years now, they still work flawlessly! I will soon be purchasing another sending/sensing unit for a total of 3. Here's the addendum; This company shamelessly courted my positive review and promised me $25.00 for it. I provided an honest, and I feel, positive review. No compensation necessary. ... And the company never paid me as personally promised by the people who answer the phone when you call the company. Just so everyone on Amazon knows who they are dealing with on this product. ... show more
