Amazing how fast this dries given the low wattage. Took me a minute to figure out the tray placement, but looked at the Amazon listing which has a good illustration. I like the small trays and the fact that they are stainless steel. I don't have to worry about any chemical transfer. It holds plenty in my opinion. Could be a problem if you have a very large garden, but I don't. There are no loud bells or timer noises on this model because there is no timer, which isn't an issue at all for me. It's very quiet while it's running, and no louder than an average fan. I find it's best to turn the trays around from front to back halfway thru drying time because the front part facing the dial control seems to dry faster. Highly recommended dehydrator. ... show more

Received this as a gift. I love the temperature control feature. Allows me to choose my times for a variety of foods. The stainless steel trays, they are easy to remove & replace as well as clean. 5 stars for the aesthetic 3 stars for the size. Smaller than I had expected so not as big a batch as I'd like can be done at a time. Still works well. A great starter unit for a newbie or someone doing spices. Honestly I wasn't ever able to use this as somebody completely busted the bottom with an ax. But I gave it five stars because it did have a nice setup I like the fact that the layers are expandable and height and it's also collapsible to put up a little easier. Decided to save a couple dollars buying used and that was a huge mistake. I feel like someone ordered this, decided to have my field day with it, then return it. The issue I PERSONALLY have is that NO ONE checked the condition of this product. ALL the tabs that make the height adjustments are broken off and was inside the box, and one of the trays are cracked. The lower part was extremely dirty and bent. I was able to make a few pounds of deer jerky on my first use with no problems. The trays are awesome quality with stainless steel mesh and they cleaned up nice with just soap and water. I definitely suggest cleaning the base as soon as possible (while still warm) with a soapy rag. Can’t wait to try other things like fruit, nuts, etc. ... show more
