I received the package and opened it and let the foam "expand", it was not squished like a bed in the box, but it was compressed. I placed it on my bed over the bedding and let it sit for 30 hours before actually using it. With the 6" height increase, I needed to remove my box springs. Climbing into the bed was a chore before. The mattress is already 16". The pad cover is very well made. Slipped over my 16” mattress with ease. Has not slipped off either. It feels good to lay on and read a book or scroll through the phone. When it came time to get out of or off the bed, I felt like I needed to roll off to get out of the foam encasement. I am a side sleeper and my hope was that this would alleviate the pain I was feeling after a night's sleep. No such luck. I still woke up in pain. Maybe it takes a few days to stop hurting. 4 nights later, I still hurt. If all you want is additional comfort and loft, this will work for you! I can’t give an opinion regarding pain. I will continue to use it for another week and see if more time makes a difference.

My mattress is too hard for me and has been causing me a lot of pain especially in my hips, I couldn't afford to replace it so I bought this instead. I have no regrets. I've had it for over a week now and I haven't slept this good in years. I haven't woken up with any pain since setting it up. It's very soft so it's definitely for the soft bed lovers and it adds a lot of height to the mattress so be prepared to struggle with your sheets, honestly, WORTH IT. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it definitely isn't cooling, in fact I'd say it retains heat, a bit of a problem as I run very hot while sleeping but I've just been sleeping with the room colder to compensate. Still amazing, I'd take a little warmth over pain.

We put this on top of a 6 year old name brand, mattress in a box mattress and fell in love! My husband and I both were so relieved with the quality of sleep we got from the softness. You just sort of melt into it and it holds you in all the right places. I didn't realize that it came as a 3 part system- the memory foam, the cooling gel, and then the white padded fitted sheet that goes over the other 2 pieces. I have found that from getting in and out of bed, it scoots the layers off of each other slowly and then when changing the sheets, it is necessary to scoot the layers back together. The start to slide off the bed out from under the sheet-- this is the reason for only 4 stars. Otherwise, we absolutely love this topper!

Just received today so I’m letting it expand for 48 hrs per the instructions but, no smell at all when I opened it and it is heavy! Excellent quality and I was very happy with the price as well. Will update after the expansion period and have slept on it for awhile, but so far I’m impressed! Update: absolute game changer! This topper has completely transformed my mattress and I’m sleeping better than I have in years! Worth every penny and I expect to get at least another year out of my mattress because of it.

So I have, literally, the worlds rarest soft bone disease. I’m 37 y/o have bad degenerative disks in back PLUS lumbarization. The disease itself causes massive all day non stop chronic pain with flair up’s that send me to the er, just in the last 3yrs I’ve broken 6 bones, and lost count of surgeries. I’d wake up every morning and my back would hurt so bad that getting out of bed was at least a 10 min process sometimes with a tear or two running down my cheek (and I have high pain tolerance) ..just to get up. I also would wake up hourly due to the pain and would painfully roll over moaning out loud in pain then falling back to sleep took forever because of the pain. I didn’t think this looked like it would help, but I did months of research and I was looking for something a bit more hard but my husband liked the mattress just fine. It says progressively your back starts to get better, no after the first night I slept on the twin size I put only on my side, not only did I only wake up 3 times that night, but I was able to much more easily roll over and pass right back out. And when I got up for the first time that morning in over three years I got up all in one smooth motion and got right up! Like 80% of my pain was gone. I’m not kidding. I even posted it on my soft bones support group Facebook page to tell others. Wanted to let husband try it one night, but didn’t want to give up the lack of pain even A single night lol, but I was willing to just go and buy the king size one without him trying it first bc I’m that confidant he will love it too. It doesn’t look like it would do much so I was so hesitant. Don’t hesitate, GET IT. Changed my life pain and sleep wise for the better for the first time in idk how many years

We bought this pad for our Cali-King bed and man what a difference it makes in comfortability. We already had a nice mattress on the bed but this pad really puffs it up and it is very soft. It sleeps well and I haven't had the normal back pain I wake up with if I slept on my right side. I am impressed and I would recommend this pad to anyone who likes a pillow soft type bed. It's not for everybody but we love it!
