Design appointments include hand detailing, rhinestone inlays, traditional hour and minute hands, gold-colored seconds hand, and a textured faceplate. While these are all skillfully aged pieces to achieve a beautiful time-honored look, everything underneath is modern and advanced. The clock's movement is driven by a precise quartz, which is powered by a single AA battery (not included). Access to the battery compartment is on the back of the unit so that it remains hidden from view once hung on the wall. Even the pendulum has its own carved look, complete with an inset clear rhinestone. The clock's normal timekeeping motions gently propel the pendulum back and forth without depleting the battery faster than necessary.

I bought this because I just became a grandfather. Whe packeging was very nicely done. I was concerned with the weight of the item it felt very cheap. The gold part are like an old antique. As i assembled the clock I was very carful not to break it like I said if felt cheap. Once I decided on a location to put it up it went. After a quick cleanup I walked around a coner and looked up. WOW it had really brought a look a of elegance and fashion to my living room. I am always getting compliments on it and I all but forgotten what I thought of it taking out of the box. I was concerned it might look cheap. I was so pleasantly surprised because it looks elegant. I love it and can easily read it. I wish it had chimes, but for the price it was well worth it.

My wall clock died a year ago but I left it hanging because I couldn't find what I wanted for a replacement. This clock is all that and much more, so glad I chose it!

My clock is missing the rhinestone from the pendulum. I was disappointed. Second review - I have had my clock now for 15 months and as of this writing the pendulum on my clock has not worked in several months. I can’t figure out what happened. The clock itself keeps accurate time, but no “swinging” pendulum. I have received numerous compliments on my clock and have come to enjoy its look, however, now I’m really sad. I don’t believe I would recommend this purchase. I did not purchase a warranty for my clock, but I surely thought it would last longer than this.. ... show more
