    • These pull 30 amps, US plugs only handle 15 amps. These DO NOT WORK in a standard US wall plug.

These pull too many amps for a standard U.S. outlet. I upgraded my outlet with one that could handle 20 amps and even with that, it trips the circuit after just 15 seconds. The only outlet I could find that would handle 30 amps is 4 prong, like those used by a dryer, which is incompatible with the plug on this water heater. ... show more

Dislike : Never heated my water over 62.6 degrees. Could not keep up with well fed water to keep it at a measley 62. Just not a good product. Built poorly I had exposed wires the second I opened box

Item description says heater is 3000 watts. When you insert numbers into formula A=W/V where A is Amps, W is watts, and V is line voltage. 3000/120=25 Amps. Normal home duplex receptacles are rated at 15 Amps. When you plug something into an outlet that is rated for 15 Amps and the device requires 25 Amps your over loading the circuit and the circuit breaker should trip to protect the wires in the wall from heating up and causing a fire. I directly wired my heater with 10 gauge wire and a 30 Amp circuit breaker and tested heater Amp draw. My reading with an amp probe was 29.5 Amps while running water. Here’s the problem. The unit comes with a plug rated at 15 Amps. The plug becomes the source of current restriction and thus heat buildup and eventually Fire. I tried the 1st and did not heat the water even that the display showed 30 plus Celsius. Then Amazon sent me a replacement with the same result, kind of cheap and not recommended. Don’t waste you money Amazon accepted my return and sent me a return lable.

Pulls allot of power, constantly trips breakers. Basically for sink use only. Burnt up after 1 week of use. Constantly throws the breaker at electric box. No good for outdoor showers. Wish I could get a refund. 120 v not enough. Maybe a 220v would be better.
