Update: if power goes out, it stays off. So best to install where you can easily access the front panel to turn it on again. Mounting was a breeze with included template and brackets. My water is around 85 F (30 C) coming in at 1.25 gpm, so there was no reduction in flow to kitchen sink at 109 F (42 C) setting. So far (after a day of use) there have been no snafus or shut-downs. The manual warns that much hotter water will come out at first with start/stop/start, because the water next to the coils will take up residual heat at the stop, so be careful (if you think about it, the situation is unavoidable by the very nature of electric boilers) and get in the habit of running the hot for a bit before plunging in with your unprotected hands (another reason I set it at 109). The biggest problem was running a 240 volt line to the sink, so this unit is best for new build or sites where you have an easy wire pathway to your electrical panel. Also, the manual advises to avoid mounting in areas where water can possibly drip down onto it, so that pretty much excludes under-sink installations, where I imagine most would want to install it for access to the water supply lines (as shown in two of their product images), even though the text recommends installing 'a few feet away." I would have hoped the manufacturer would have engineered a water resistant housing just for this situation. Seller also follows up the sale with an email reminding of electrical requirements. I've not needed tech support. So far, so good! And happy to instant hot water at the kitchen sink (the farthest point in my house from my hot water heater). ... show more

The unit is easy to install and worked fine for me, however it turned out it was not the right size unit for our needs. I would recommend it to anyone but make sure you understand you needs and what the unit will be able to prove. It will save you the trouble of having to changed it out.

    • It does what it is supposed to according to it's size.
I ordered this tankless water heater because it was as large as I could get without replacing the wires. We installed it to heat the water for our Church Baptistry. We have a variable speed pump that circulates the water in the tank. I set it to 100 degrees and had to run the pump on low to achieve this temp. We Baptized 2 last Sunday in Jesus name and the water was exactly where I had it set. when the pump is off the water heater goes on standby. Perfect for our needs.     • You can buy for only trailer mobile homes. Not useful for long term hot water use
It takes a lot of energy consumption , not safe for someone who does not know anything about electrical work. Please be careful while installing because in California/America. You need to rewire a new line to a new breaker in the panel to connect this module to , it’s is not 120v. It is 220 Please be careful to not set your home or business on fire! ... show more

I replaced an existing unit with the Sivuatek 18kw model. I hired a licensed plumber to do the retrofit and it went very smoothly. He showed me the settings and how to make adjustments.
