A physical therapist suggested getting a lift chair for my elderly mom. I wanted something that has a full arm rests and a material where spilled food and drink will not stain or soak thru. We immediately put a seat cover on the chair. The VUYUYU lift chair is reasonably priced. It has the full armrest (without stupid cupholders) to easily grasp the front of the arm rest when sitting down or getting up. The material is a dark brown faux PU leather surface for easy clean up, but not as thick as real leather nor the cost. The chair arrived in 2 boxes, one with the base and other with the back and 2 arm assemblies. Assembly was easy from watching the installation video. Connection of the wiring was pretty straight forward for power and chair controls. This model has additional wiring for the massager electronics. Wire management is a bit of a problem so the wires don't get crushed especially when the chair goes into full reclining position. Once assembled the reclining position leans pretty far back to ~130 degree, which is comfortable for an elderly with a heart condition and can't be completely horizontal. The feet is elevated to aid in blood circulation to the legs. This angle is comfortable for a good long nap. The seat is wide to move hips side to side a bit for extra comfort. The massage function is a bit of a joke as it just vibrates throughout the chair. The lift action to fully upright takes a quick ~5 seconds to reach the maximum lift. It does feel like you will be thrown off the chair and do a face plant. So for the elderly, with limited leg strength, having a cane/walker in front of the chair to grasp immediately will allow a safe exit from the lifted chair to transition to a walking position. Overall we are happy to provide this lift chair to make it more comfortable and assistive for my aging parent. ... show more

    • My mother loved it. It was just the right size for her. It didn't overwhelm the room.

It was just the right size for my mother. She is a small woman, and the chair was just right. The size of the chair fit perfectly in the room without being overwhelming. However, it took two of us to put it together and the instructions were a little confusing. But my mother was thrilled.

Soon after the chair arrived there was an issue with not being able to completely disable/turn-off the massage feature. I reached out to the seller who responded within 24 hours and, after several Amazon message exchanges, shipped us a replacement remote control as I thought that may have been the problem. Turned out that it was not the remote control causing the problem. A few more email exchanges later, they sent a few additional replacement parts which didn't take long to swap out. My mother has 6 compression fractures that are healing and I knew she needed a lift chair when she got out of rehab. I looked for awhile and the prices were out of my range. I took a chance and looked on Amazon. They have quite a few but I had never heard of any of the companies. I took a chance on this one and so far it has been wonderful for my mother. She likes the massage and is getting used to letting the chair help her up. Her only wish it that the has warmer for her back. Don't get me wrong it works just not warm enough for her. Took a week for delivery, and had to pay $99 for delivery. Only box 1 of 2 was delivered. FedEx said that was all they had. Still no answer from the seller. **update** seller responded and advised it was shipped in two boxes. They provided the 2nd tracking number and it all arrived within a couple of days. We were looking for a chair for my mom and quickly realized she would need an electric chair. We went to MANY different stores looking for one. We couldn't find one for less than $800. So, of course, we reverted back to Amazon and came across this gem. It shipped in two pieces (which the seller contacted me to let us know, providing the tracking numbers). My husband had it put together in no time, and it is sturdy and comfortable, easy for my mom to use. This is definitely a great alternative to paying a thousand dollars for a lift chair.
