Heats water very fast. I put it inline with the existing hot water line, so when it runs out, the water from the main water heater can be used. Be sure to use new fittings when installing it, if they look corroded at all. I had a leak at the connection, and discovered the the fitting going from the heater to the faucet had corroded, making a watertight connection impossible, even though is used plenty of teflon tape and tightened it as much as I dared. Description says max temperature is 167F and also has a photo that shows 167. Package instructions says max is 65C or 149F. I require 160 or more. This is the same issue I had with another unit and had to send back. Description says 167 but it was only 149. Now I have to send this one back. Edit, If does in fact heat to 167. I'm taking one star off because off wrong info in instructions. Also, very hard to make a tight seal on theaded pipe fittings. Not sure why, perhaps threaded tolerances are not that good. I don't normally have problems with fittings leaking. ... show more

Considering how much pleasure I get from having nice warm/hot water after 4 seconds, I am thinking that of the literally thousands of item I've bought off Amazon over the past 22(!) years, this cute little, perfect water heater might be the best thing of all. Unlikely but may be true. BUT the manufacturer needs to offer HELP! For the subset of buyers like me who have fixtures using 3/8" connectors and not the RV situation. I had a devil of a time figuring out what I needed and then finding parts (see below) and then had a problem after installation as well. ................................. I installed under house sink connecting to a pull-down faucet ... NOT an RV set-up. Turned out I had 2 problems: 1 - I had to search high and low for adapters, since my under-sink water supply to my pull-down faucet used all 3/8" flexible tubing. The correct 3/8"M to 1/2"M to 3/8"F NPS threaded T-adapters, which were NOT included in the kit, were HARD to find. After probably 3+ hours of trying figure out correct threading and configurations and sizes and searching again and again (Amazon search engine SUCKS!!!), I finally found exactly what works: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1F6B39X?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Actually I should have simply used a straight NPS 3/8"M to 1/2"M connector for the Hot side since: https://www.amazon.com/PackCompression-Fitting-Reducer-Plumbing-Connector/dp/B0BFL28VCX/ref=sr_1_13?crid=1LQ8UXSSBGHB3&keywords=3%2F8+Male+x+1%2F2+Male+NPS+Adapter+%22not+NPT%22&qid=1678293789&s=hi&sprefix=3%2F8+male+x+1%2F2+male+nps+adapter+not+npt+%2Ctools%2C141&sr=1-13 I should NOT have spliced into the Hot faucet from my 40-gallon tank. I did, of course, need a T-adapter for the cold water side so I could still draw Cold water into my faucet. 2 - After installation, every time I used the Hot water, I got a "spitting" for 2 seconds then the flow from the new tank. BUT over night, I discovered the Hot water was ice cold despite the new tank registering 102F! Turns out I was NOT drawing from the new tank but from the ice cold feed from my 40-gallon hot water heater! That's exactly what I wanted to avoid: wasting 1.5+ gallons every time I wanted hot water but got ice cold water from the main tank, 20 feet away. After shutting off and thus totally bypassing the Hot water spigot (now connected to nothing!) from the main 40-gallon tank, I ended the spitting and instantly got hot water from under the sink! ... show more

The hot water heater was cheap, installed easily, and doesn't use too much power for my old rv. However, I will point out that if you want to use it for something other than washing your hands or doing a load of dishes, you're in for a rude awakening. A hot shower, even with low pressure, using this tank will last you about five minutes max. It's a nice addition of course, but if you're aching for a long hot shower on the road, get a bigger model or just opt for the propane version. ... show more
