I wonder if they will last (plastic), but used them to tighten galvanized wire berry trellises. They are easy to use and convenient to tighten as the wires sag. So far I'm very happy with them.

I got these things because I was trying to keep a lumbar support thing tied securely to my chair; the tent cord I was using was not tying securely enough, so the knots would inevitably loosen within an hour or two. Worked well for the poly wire fence I put up around my garden. I am glad I used these as the wire seems to slightly stretch over time. Just remember to put them on while putting up the fence, hard to add after.
