    • Inexpensive, durable, and rugged casual dishware
Color: Black Wheat Straw Plates and Bowls
I've always been a little wary of plastic dishware. I didn't know much about wheat straw when i bought these, but I figured it was worth a shot. Overall, these are great for casual use. They feel like plastic, so I don't know if you'd use them in any sort of formal setting, but for picnics outdoor eating or anything like that these are great. I've used them in the microwave, and I've run them through the dishwasher multiple times, and they seemed fine. They've been dropped, abused, and held up great. I use these whenever I'm eating outdoors, or the kids are eating in their room. Great casual dishware and safe to use for anyone with plastic sentitivity. Highly recommended. ... show more

    • Just what was needed
Color: Beige Wheat Straw Plates and Bowls
My mother moved into assisted living facility. She has meals in the dining room so no real need for dishes, just plates and bowls for snacking. These are the perfect size for one person.

    • Wheat Straw Wear...Where It's At!
Color: Black Wheat Straw Plates and Bowls
This is another set of wheat straw for me because I like so well another I previously obtained. Those plates have become our go-tos for lots of uses--feeding toddlers and more. These, too, seem to be a very nice set of dinnerware. Their black color makes them seem kind of dressy, even, though they are simply...well, simple. I'm not sure elegant wheat straw wear is a thing, but if it is: these are that. ... show more

    • Great for camping and casual culinary outings.
Color: Beige Wheat Straw Plates and Bowls
Pros: • Eco-Friendly Material: Made from wheat straw, these plates and bowls are a sustainable alternative to traditional plastic, perfect for environmentally conscious consumers. • Durable and Safe: Despite feeling like plastic, they are microwave and dishwasher safe, proving resilient to multiple uses and cleaning cycles. • Versatile Use: Ideal for casual settings like picnics or outdoor gatherings, and safe for use by those sensitive to traditional plastics. • Stylish Design: Available in various colors including black, adding a touch of style to practicality. Cons: • Best for Casual Use: These dishes are not particularly attractive and best for camping and outdoor meals. Review Summary: When I first requested these wheat straw plates and bowls, I was curious about their durability and suitability for everyday use. After a couple weekend camp trips, I can confidently say they excel in casual settings. They feel sturdy enough for outdoor picnics and withstand the dishwasher well. The microwave capability is convenient, allowing for reheating without issues. Their resilience is impressive—they've survived drops and rough handling without any noticeable damage, making them perfect for kids' meals or outdoor dining scenarios. Final Thoughts: Compared to disposable options like paper or foam, these wheat straw plates and bowls are a sustainable and durable choice. They are practical for everyday family use and make a significant contribution to reducing waste. While they may not replace nicer indoor dinner sets, their functionality and eco-friendly attributes make them a standout choice for casual dining needs or for kids in high chairs apt to throwing their dinnerware. Overall, if you're looking for reliable, environmentally conscious dishware suitable for various occasions, I highly recommend giving these a try. • Functional but unattractive
Color: Beige Wheat Straw Plates and Bowls
There is no other way to say this but these dishes are ugly. While they claim to be bamboo, they feel more like plastic. They have rather high sides for plates so don't fit in my dishwasher rack easily. I actually find those high sides helpful for dishes that have sauces that could run over the edge when carried from the kitchen to the table. I also like them for dinner salads (we eat a lof of Chicken Caesar Salad since they are flat enough to hold a dinner sized dinner, but those high sides prevent lettuce from falling off the edge. But because of the dull beige color, I only use these with immediate family, often in lieu of paper plates. They are not what I would consider a substitute for my everyday china. They do clean up well in the dish washer and because of the texture, would probably bounce if dropped. I think these would be great for families with young children who would benefit from those raised sides and the durability. ... show more
