I use this for amature light shows. I bought one to try and soon got a second unit. I skimmed through the automatic features which seem nice but I was after some nice beam/fan effects and it has some nice ones. I needed effects that could be used directly over people without risking their eyes. The 43 channel dmx mode has a lot of variable options that drive these effects from multiple channels so options seem unlimited at first. I like that you can set exactly where the beams go to keep it safe. The colors are very nice even though the yellow dosen't stand out from the green but it's ok. Also this unit is quiet, I have not ran it in a silent room but I have never heard the internals. Some lasers are just plain noisy. The manual is decent but could be more thourough on sub definitions for a couple of fx channels. You just have to spend some time going through it and map what you like as you go. Some channels change per each dmx value so there are a lot of options. Keep in mind it's not super bright so I would limit to somewhat small areas. Overall this laser is a tremendous value at this pricepoint. Its plug and play if you wanna use the remote and packed with features if you are running on dmx. ... show more

This is a cracking piece of kit. Only niggle is that it only included a single remote. We use two of these and a smoke machine with lights to create an ersatz nightclub in the kids rec room. The effect is outstanding when used with smoke, but be careful if you have smoke alarms. The machine genuinely performs in response to the music bpm using just the built-in mic. And we have not begun to explore the DMX link. The animations are a real step up from just flashing coloured lights. You can also adjust/rotate the images depending on how your unit is mounted. We started on tripods but are now mounting them permanently to the ceiling. I am hard pressed to think of what else would offer this bang for the buck. They are great value for money. ... show more

Without music its fine.... ...but this thing does not sync with any beat and only reacts to sound by turning on with the same tempo and display and turning off when there is no sound, not at all with the beat by any means. its actually kinda painful to watch, its so out of sync with the music and the transitions ugh so much potential here but very poor design. ... show more
