If you lose a remote, the only way to turn this on is to plug and unplug it. But it is set on noise reaction only. Meaning any sound it hears the light will go off. Going to look for a universal remote to utilize this ball

If you are someone who wants to put on a sharp and bright light show with a small device; all while avoiding spending a fortune on expensive hardware, then this disco light is for you! This small, colored disco light can do much more than it appears to. With the included remote, one can operate its many functions which includes solid red, green, and blue; red/green, red/blue, and green/blue; flashing, and auto functions. In addition to this, there’s even a setting which allows the light to flash with any music you may be playing. To create the moving color effect, a small motor moves the lights around the inside of a refracting-light dome. This motor can move the colors around very fast at the cost of being a bit noisy. However, unless the light is on in a quiet room, it will not be heard. These color projections are also very crisp. After testing it in many differently-sized rooms and, the outlines of the projections remained just as sharp in the large rooms as in the small rooms. Surprisingly, all of this is contained in a very small package. Weighing in at less than one pound and measuring less than five inches (length, width, and height), this device fits all of that in a small package. Its lightweight is due to its very durable plastic body, light-refracting dome, and stand. As if this was not enough, this product was on sale at a great discount. You may be quite skeptical when you see the price but, it is well worth it. You may also be astounded at the quality; especially for its retail value. I highly recommend this product to anyone who would like professional-quality stage lights without spending a fortune on stage equipment. It’s just a light, pattern goes random. Not so “music activated” at all. When I chose that mode, and turned music on, it went off and not light up. So the remote is basically useless. Just plug in for lights and that’s it. Got what I paid for I guess.

Got this for our Grand daughter for 5th b-day. She is quite the pretender: singer and dancer. It is perfect size for her to take wherever she wants to use it. Remote is small so it is a little difficult for her to keep track of but for the price, it is a perfect.

But we just turned the lights off, which was lackluster. So I ordered this disco ball to spice it up, and it made our karaoke night even better. More fun, energetic, playful, and festive. The kids were bouncing up and down and the adults were all laughing and grinning. Even my grandma sang her favorite Mexican corridos song and grooved with us. Get this small but powerful disco ball for your family night, it will be a night to remember! Had it for almost a year and it's still durable. It was also the perfect brightness level, covered my entire square living room with rainbow lights. The remote control was easy to use and operate but the speaker audio was ok, not loud enough so we just switched to the TV audio which was louder.
