I have the rubber net, great while using treble hook, hook doesn't hang up in net very often. I've landed 23 plus inch redfish and large bowfin with no problem. I can keep it fairly compact or expand it and place on my bow hatch. Go with the rubber, it's well worth the extra money.

    • Broke on the first fish. Weak mesh and too bulky.

This net looks really nice, but was much bulkier than expected. It is also way overrated for the weight it will hold. The very first fish that I attempted to land with this net broke right through the mesh. This was a 10lb snook. A fairly large and aggressive fish yes, but not so big that the net should not have been able to handle it. Lucky for me, the fish was well hooked; otherwise, I would have lost it and been very upset. All that said, if the mesh were stronger, despite the bulk of the net, I would love the net. It expands very easily, doesn't snag hooks and floats. That it can't land a fish makes it useless, particularly considering the cost. ... show more

This thing is awesome. I can't believe I've fished for 35 years without one. It extends very easy, floats and hooks don't get tangled in it. I'd give it more stars if it was possisble. Buy with confidence as it works better than you could guess:)

Be wary of the images that are being advertised. I selected the blue colored item with mesh net willing to pay just a little more for to steer away from the bold red colors. I received the RED net. This was intended as a birthday gift and was meant to coordinate with a blue and silver bass boat… oh brother! Overall the net does seem nice and I am sure that the quality is fine, just disappointed that the color is different than what I selected. ... show more
