  • Not worth the short comings
Style: 3000W Nexus PowerStation (NO BATTERY/CHA... Pattern Name: Power Station
Charing from 65% to full takes over 4hrs with 3x7.5 and 1x5 batteries. 400w draw is about 3 hrs of runtime with 3x7.5 and 1x5 batteries. Definitely not something sustainable during an emergency. For starters the idea behind this goes against the documentation about the batteries. The docs read that prolonged unused batteries should be discharged. But inorder to make use of this during and unplanned emergency. Then one has to have their batteries charging all the time. How the unit it self is a horrible charging station it self. It will only slow charge one battery at time. Until that battery's level is equal the next lowest battery or battery's charge. Then it will still only slow charge the lowest level batteries, switching between them evenly. Make the wait for a fully charged battery to use in other devices a painful slow wait. Finally they're the short coming of how the unit can only charge or power the outlets. This limitation makes it a horrible device for during rolling black outs. For which you need a device that can say power refrigerator, medical equipment, or electronics while there's no power. But then the power comes back on charge your batteries back up quickly while still providing power to your devices. Some will say you can just move your devices back to the now working power outlets. But thats provided your home. But even if your home for this kinda money why should you have to. It's a simple oversight that should have never made it past the drawing board. But it did and it makes this device a horrible emergency power station. This is fine as a planned outing power supply. But nothing else. Oh and one last thing, the wifi cards in these are horrible! Good like getting it connected to and keeping it connected. Although the Bluetooth range is acceptable. ... show more

  • great device
Style: 150W Nexus Escape (NO BATTERY/CHARGER) Pattern Name: Power Station
I live in the Bay Area and the power outages are becoming regular occurrence. So i bought this and it has been incredibly useful during this most recent and ongoing outage. It is pure sine wave so it powers my sony 50" tv, and anything else 150 watts and below. Not sure why someone described it as glorified laptop powering station. I would highly recommend this for anyone with existing Ego batteries. The price is not unreasonable, particularly since the inferior Ryobi 40 volt system inverter is the same price. With a little more usage of the device, I should point out that I was not able to power up my Sony 50 inch TV with the 2.5 amp battery. The 5.0 worked well. I believe you will find all these specs in the description of the product. A smaller TV might be OK with 2.5 amps. The fast charger requires wattage of 550 which will require a generator or powerful car inverter. the slower charger is 155 watts, which worked with my Bestek 500 watt inverter with a bunch of things running on it. The one small detractor is it doesn't seem to turn itself completely off when not used. There is an easy on off switch, but if you just unplug something and let is sit there, I think the battery drains a bit. There is only AC plug. The two USB outlets you could do without given all the options that exist to charge your phone or iPad I just bought another one. You can't match the portability and its fine for most indoor stuff you'll need to keep running during a power outage under 24 hours. Beyond that, this won't run important stuff like a microwave, etc. But you can plug in your modem/router, cable box, and TV since it puts out a pure (as opposed to modified) sine wave. And a table lamp on top of that. just need to split the one AC plug on it. ... show more

  • read before you buy (if you plan on buying for cpap machines)
Style: 150W Nexus Escape (NO BATTERY/CHARGER) Pattern Name: Power Station
i bought this unit, qty (2) 7.5 amp batteries and a rapid charger. i wanted to use this to power a cpap machine. check wattage on cpap machine (80watts) and this unit (150watts). fully charged up the batteries. and tested it on cpap machine and overloaded this unit in 2 seconds. then i tried it on a few fans and gave a loud buzzing sound. plugging in lamps caused same issue and dull light. did some research and found these units do not give true AC current instead supplys a square wave instead. this can cause buzzing on some electrical equipment. all this stuff wasnt cheap and i wasted a ton of money on it. not sure what i can use this on and not worth the expense. was planning on purchasing the powerstation but in not sure now. ... show more

  • Replacement Item Works As Advertised
Style: 3000W Nexus PowerStation (NO BATTERY/CHA... Pattern Name: Power Station
My, original, review was bad based on a faulty unit. I returned it to Amazon, received my replacement, and everything is fine and works as it is supposed to work. There are a few glitches. When connecting to the internet, do not follow their instructions on the website. They do not go with anything on the App now. Connect according to the instructions that are in the app, after you register the item. When the app says "Connected" to not push on "Finish" or it just disconnects you. Touch the back arrow and you will stay connected. ... show more

  • Better Every Day
Style: 150W Nexus Escape (NO BATTERY/CHARGER) Pattern Name: Power Station
Recent knee replacement, and now have 110 power plus outlets at my constant disposal. Purchased Ego Snowblower with 7.5ah batteries so I now have plenty of portable power to keep all iOS devices topped off. Power went out for just a short period today, life went on. Plan to use Monday for big box shopping to enable my portable electric cooler while traveling about to maintain cooling for meat, poultry, frozen items, sweet!!! Uses are endless, if you are using Ego products, this $100 item is a No Brainer. Awaiting first snow to evaluate new Ego Snowthrower. Love their leaf blower. Huge fan of Ego products. I tested and purchased these products with my own money with no endorsement from Ego or parents. ... show more
