All Ego products are top notch. Very easy to operate-quiet, powerful, no cord. Best one I have ever owned. Used around a single family home on 10 bushes. So not used commercially, but probably could be used that much with bigger or more batteries.

Very good for trimming my bushes. I even used to cut back English Ivy. I now have the blower, the lawn mower, a all running on a single rechargeable battery. I was so tired of trying to start my old gas-driven lawn mower. Now I simply put in the battery and am off.

Initially ordered a Black and Decker trimmer because I have their saw which is an excellent product. When the trimmer came it required some assembly including removing some screws which were supposedly only partially attached to the handle. However, they were locked in place and could not be removed and thus prevented assembly. Disappointed I returned it. I spent a lot more time comparing reviews and the EGO had virtually no negative reviews and a huge amount of very positive reviews. So I went for it. It comes with no battery which normally would have been a deal breaker since purchasing an EGO battery is expensive if you do not already have one. I had one which came with my EGO leaf blower. If you have one EGO battery, it will work in any EGO cordless tool. Mine did. It is a terrific product. It comes fully assembled, the instructions on how to use are well written and clear. It works perfectly. The safety features are well thought out. You have to hold both handles, front and rear for the trimmer to cut. It does not work if you hold only one which makes it impossible to accidentally start the blades. So, it cannot be used one handed which unless you had a lot of arm strength would not be possible anyway. Basically, this is a perfect product except for one thing which is why I gave it four stars and not five. It is very heavy for a trimmer. Why is so heavy? Because the EGO battery, just by itself is not light and when inserted into the trimmer the tool becomes quite heavy. Just how heavy, I have not weighed it buy I would say 10 pounds. Maybe more. While that may not seem like a lot, believe me, after a minute or two it is. Though I am 70 years old, I am not a weakling. I train German Shepherd Dogs that can weigh 90 pounds or more. However, dead weight, especially with your arms extended, is a very different thing. Their leaf blower is also heavy but they offer a shoulder strap which makes all the difference. It would not work for a trimmer. Bottom line...this is a fantastic tool. If you good arm strength, i.e. better than average, go for it. It is clearly the best. I do not recommend it for women unless they are weight lifters. But as great as this tool is, and it is really good, think twice before you purchase it. It is heavy and you will have to rest every couple of minutes.

This hedgetrimmer cuts well. It is also very heavy and impossible to use with Egos larger battery due to weight. Maneuvering when trimming at the waist and below is simple and impressive. Maneuvering above the waist, especially shoulder height, takes a lot of strength and endurance. My hedge trimming time was supposed to be minimized but with the required breaks to rest my shoulders eats up the time. It has two safety features that must be engaged for it to work. However, if above the waist especially at shoulder height, these engaging features along with safely maneuvering the trimmer takes some coordination and concentration. Perhaps redesigning to have more safety and less weight would be something for EGO to consider. I recommend this trimmer for those stronger coordinated individuals. "They" will adore this trimmer.

I replaced my Ryobi trimmer which had dulled and could not be sharpened. I already had the Ego mower which I love so thought I would try the trimmer. I have used trimmers for over twenty years now and this is without a doubt the best trimmer I have ever used. Apparently this one can also be sharpened as well (have not tried this out yet). It has great power to cut through thick bushes easily and the battery lasts for about 90 minutes so no issue doing all the bushes in my yard. The weight is more than the Ryobi one but it is better balanced so you really don't notice it when you are cutting with it (more so when you pick it up). The plastic trimmer sleeve nicely protects the trimmer when not in used (hanging with other tools in my garage). Highly recommend!
