I struggled deciding between the 22" aluminum deck or the lighter, less powerful model. My schedule doesn't always allow me to mow the yard at the best times, so occasionally it gets a little too long. This thing is a beast and has ravaged everything I've thrown at it. If registered and connected to the Ego app, you can increase the turbo mode rpm even more. It doesn't struggle at all in thick, long, and even a little wet grass. My yard has some bumps and hills, and this mower is a little on the heavier side, but I haven't had any issue getting around with the self propel. I've read concerns about the loudness of the self propel, but I haven't found it to be an issue at all. It get a little louder the faster you go or if it's pulling harder to go up a hill, but still not anything I find annoying. If you register, Ego also sends you a free side discharge attachment and high lift bagging blade which most reviews I've read seem to prefer over the mulching blade even if you're not bagging. I received the side discharge attachment, but the high lift blade apparently is on backorder with no ETA on when it will be sent. Overall, I'm glad I picked this model because I'm confident it can handle anything I'll even need it for. ... show more

Maybe my batteries are old but every time I cut the lawn something cuts it off (battery red flashing or panel indicated) if I dont keep the blade speed down and not overwork the self propel. Liked my original plastic deck auto speed one little better.

I already had lots of Ego batteries, I didn't need any more so I just wanted the LM2200SP mower. All of the retail stores in my area only had the mower WITH the batteries at a price several hundred dollars more, so I was delighted to see the mower ONLY, was available on Amazon. It arrived in less than two days along with free shipping! That was amazing because if I had been able to purchase the mower from my local big box store, they would have charged me $79 dollars for delivery! The mower comes assembled right out of the box, you just have to put the bag attachment together which is easy. I used the mower today and loved it. It's powerful and mulched the grass beautifully, I saw no trace of the clippings on the lawn. Cleaning it is easy, you just fold down the handle and tilt the mower up, something hard to do with a gas mower because you have to worry about the oil leaking in the crankcase. No gas or oil or any liquid here. Since Amazon is an authorized Ego retailer, they'll honor the warranty. All in all, no problems and a great mower purchased from Amazon. ... show more

The mower works really well. Other reviewers said they needed the high lift blade to use the bag. I didn't have any issues using the mulching blade with the bag. EGO will send you a high lift blade upon request, if you register your mower within their time frame after receipt, but I requested it in June and didn't get it until September (a few phone calls were needed). I used the mulch blade for a month, then tried it with the bag and it worked great. ... show more

Have tested it on mowing spring first-cut tall grass and mulching a spread raked pile of dry fall oak and maple leaves. Works great! Less noise than gas, no fumes or exhaust, and I can check out the underside without having to drain oil and gas. It's a winner! UPDATE: Four months later and it's still a winner! ... show more

I'm a big fan of Ego tools and have a lot of them as well as the batteries they need. I wanted to shift from my gas mower, so I got a LM2206SP. Though it eats through batteries more quickly than the optimistic descriptors indicate, it cuts grass just fine and is easy to operate. I give it 3 stars, though, because it does not have a built in side chute for grass to come out of, and as a result it creates a strip of cut grass on that piles up on one side of the mower. Because mowing makes a person go back and forth, ultimately this makes that pile twice as deep. When it dries, I consistently have a strip of dead grass running back and forth across my lawn. I can't throw grass in the trash where I live, so bagging it is a hassle. Investigation let me discover that Ego makes a "Side Discharge Chute" (that attaches to the back of the mower). I got one, but basically it now shoots cut grass out in blobs that will also look bad. It's unfortunate that Ego didn't stick with the side chute design that has worked well for decades. I now have a mower that cost a lot of money and may last for years, but that I do not like. ... show more

Simply put, this mower, and every other Ego Mower I have used, does not cut evenly and leaves big clumps of grass all over. I have tried adjusting heights, I have tried overlapping, I have tried different blades, nothing helps.
