A couple of years ago I was adamant that I would never buy a battery mower. I was a gas guy for many reasons: I felt that they worked better, they were more manly, you didn't have to worry about charging or replacing an expensive batter, and battery units could be quite pricey. After 6 years of using a very inexpensive gas mower it was time to replace it. Getting six years out of a 100 dollar motor was a huge win. But it finally decided to crap out and I bit the bullet and purchased this Ego mower. It was night and day! The cut is amazing, I currently use the mulching blades and my grass looks so much better than it did in previous years. The mower is quiet and I can use my air pods without putting ear muffs over them. The battery life is pretty good, I can typically mow my entire yard on a single charge. With that being said I would recommend purchasing a second battery as it will bring peace of mind. One of my favorite features is the height adjustment; it's just a quick slide of a lever. Not more fussing with the wheels or taking them off to set the height. And the mower is lightweight and can be stored inside. I have a very small shed and my old mower took up most of the space. Now I can keep the Ego mower in my basement as it does not contain gas thus freeing up my shed. And it's lightweight enough to carry down the basement stairs. The mower is well built and doesn't feel cheap. It also includes a light which I have not used yet. Some people will like the self propelled feature but I usually shut it off and push the mower. This saves battery life and provides some exercise! the last thing that I'll mention is that it comes with three blades and a collection bag! I highly recommend this Ego mower, you won't be disappointed. ... show more

At first, I wasn't so sure about this mower but come to find out I was using one of my older 7.5 amp batteries. Once I switched to one of my newer ones, it worked fabulous! I absolutely love it. Did a great job mulching and was so quiet and lightweight. I used it for about 25 minutes and I still had power to spare in my battery.     • I Did My Research And This EGO Looked Like The Right Choice - I have not been disappointed!

Ok I have mowed with this mower 6 times now this Spring and I am happy with my purchase. 1. I didn't give it 5 stars as I don't think the batteries last as long as stated but I have two and they easily mow my lawn with one change. Oh and I bought the best EGO charger which make the charging quick and easy. 2. This mower replaces an older Honda gas mower. Its Spring and my grass is growing like crazy. I'm mowing twice a week right now. At this time of year my Honda mowed my lawn and mulched but left some clumps. This mower cuts the lawn with no problem and there are no clumps of grass. I looked up the reason and I find that this mower spins the blade a little more than 1000 rpm faster than the Honda. That said it does a great job of powering even fairly long grass. 3. Changing the battery is no problem. I spend less time in a battery change than I did putting gas in my Honda at the start of each mowing. 4. The speed control is great and gives me good control of my mowing speed. No matter how fast I go the mower doesn't bog down in long grass. I run at a speed my old legs are comfortable with. 5. The Bagger and side discharge are nice but I have not yet used them. 6. I love how the mower folds down. I can stand it up and put it against the wall of my garage leaving me more room for other yard stuff. 7. I am overall very pleased with this purchase. It mows well. Works great in deep grass and makes my lawn look great when I finish. 8. This is my first electric mower and I have to say the EGO is a good example of what an electric mower can be! ... show more

    • Better than 2100 SP model

Unfortunately, the motor on my 4 year old Ego 2100SP quit. It was probably my fault for running it caked with mud which paralyzed the blades. Googling repairs, I came to realize that it was not going to happen. Reluctantly, I bought this 2130SP. At least, I was able to get the machine only as I already had a battery. The instructions weren't clear that this mower is ready to go right out of the box. I was trying to figure out what I had to do to assemble it. Just had to insert the battery, open the handle into mowing position and telescope it out. It comes with the mulching blade installed. I was thinking I would want to use the flat extended use blade but I was not in a mood to change blades. Turns out the mulching blade ran for as long as I needed to mow my front lawn with my 4 year old battery. Indeed, I think the battery lasted a little longer than it had in the 2100SP. The mulching blade cut beautifully. My lawn looks great and does not have row lines, just a clean all over look. More importantly, this mower is lighter than the 2100SP and has better wheels. I was able to turn it with much less effort which is important to a 68 year old woman with lots of tree and shrub obstacles in my yard. My only gripe, EGO if your reading, is that I prefer the hand brake style propulsion control. I had better control with it and it was easier on my old hands.
