My guest room has a" hillbilly king" bed which is two twin beds bolted together. The old cheap mattresses are quite firm and uncomfortable. I wanted to replace the hand me down mattress topper I had that covers the seam between the two twin mattresses. The EGO 3 inch King topper was offered at a great price. When it arrived it was packed in a compact way, when opening it and unfolding the topper it is compressed down to less than an inch thick. I laid it all out flat as instructed and within a couple hours it was nearly fully expanded. By the next day it was transformed. There was a faint "foam-y" scent but it dissipated in a few days. I had occasion to nap and also sleep the night through on this pad--it got me thinking that I would want a queen size also for the bed in my room. I ordered one that seemed to be the exact item I had purchased a few months before. Although the outer box was printed slightly differently, the box was the same dimensions and the inner packing and product appears identical. I let it rest a week then placed it on my bed, removing the much more expensive Tempur-Pedic topper, also a 3 inch pad. The new EGO topper is more comfortable, it is more supportive than the Tempur-Pedic Memory foam topper I replaced. The EGO does not have the hammock-like feeling which was irritating my bad back after several years of use. It is still comfortably soft though. This is very squishy. I'll give it that. I have hEDS. This felt good for my painful bursitis until it was uncomfortably pushing the lighter parts of my body up too much in ways it shouldn't since my flexibility can bend too far. I had to remove it after 2 days and my upper back/shoulders area is still in major pain 2 days after it being removed. I don't know 100% if it would, but I am almost bedbound with ME/CFS and the topper seemed to be getting a dip in the center where I mostly was. It fluffed up a bit after removal, but I feel like this would not be compatible for those who are bedbound. It would leave the user in a deep divot and I feel like any health/hygiene care would be difficult to do if a person is situated like that. I assume it would be fine if somebody slept the normal amount and got up so the topper could refluff itself every day though. ... show more

I bought this for my son's college dorm mattress to give him more cushion, and this is working great so far. He likes it because he said it reduces the noise of his mattress and it's not sliding. You do have to let it air out and fluff up for about 24 hours, but after that he was good to go. My son said it has a good balance of firmness and softness.
