The Efperfect Sputnik 18-Light Crystal Pendant Chandelier is a very impressive and attractive ceiling light that looks great but is a bear to assemble and install. The suggested video while very helpful does not provide the best solution for bundling the two groups of 18 wires plus two power wires together. The video shows twisting the two 19 wire bundles (i.e. two 18 light wire bundles plus the two power wires) and wrapping electrical tape around the two bundles. A better method of bundling the wires is to clasp the 19 wires together in your hand and wrap two zip ties (one close to the edge plus one further back) around each of the two bundles to hold them in place. The zip ties prevent any of the 19 wires from escaping when you are attempting to bundle and twist them. The zip ties also allows you to equalize the length of the inner stranded conductors. With the wires firmly held together with zip ties, you do not have to hold them together with your hand, and you can use a pair of needle nose pliers (if necessary) to pull any wires that need to be pulled up to equal the others. Once you have all of the wires bundled the way you want them, then you can twist them together. But, rather than using electrical tape to secure the two bundles, use wire nuts instead. Twist two appropriate size wire nuts around each of the two wire bundles until tight. Then you can proceed with the assembly as instructed in the video. Once you are satisfied with the assembly, you will have to mount the light to the ceiling electrical box. That can also a significant challenge because the assembled light is bulky and a bit heavy. I used a step ladder to install it by myself, balancing the light on the top of the step ladder because my ceiling was low enough to allow that. My suggestion, however, is to have two people mount the light to the ceiling. One person should hold the light in place near the ceiling to allow twisting the two power wires from the light to the two electrical wires in the electrical box as well as screwing the light to the box. Note also, my unit only had a single mounting bracket supplied that I eventually discarded. I used a standard round light mounting bracket to attach the light to the ceiling electrical box rather than the one supplied. Once the light was mounted, I ran into more issues attaching the globes to each of the arms. Some of the attaching nuts that must be screwed on through the globes would not follow the threads and jammed. I had to play with about three of them to get them finally screwed all of the way on. When they jam, it can be a nightmare to try to get them screwed all the way on. Once I finally got all 18 globes screwed on, I installed the 18 LED bulbs. The fully installed chandelier really looks great and is bright. I rated the light with four stars in spite of the challenges of assembling and installing it because it looks so great. (Note that the supplied bulbs cannot be dimmed. I ended up just discarding them and installed dimmable ones instead.)

Good customer service and communication, but... 12/4/22 - Post installation update. Wow, this fixture was an absolute nightmare to install! At this point, between the wiring and the install, I think I've spent about 5 hours on this freaking thing and I've installed a lot of fixtures in my lifetime. I don't know if I should keep it or return it, it looks nice, but had I known it would be such a huge time commitment with poor design I would have never bought this. Below are some additional issues you should be aware of: 1. I had to cut down the 2 main metal screws that hold the plate on the bracket because they were too long causing the black metal plate not to be flush to the ceiling. After cutting the screws I had to file them down spent a lot of time trying to get the little black nuts to screw back in again, this is crazy. 2. There was no normal green nut for the ground because the generic bracket they provided was not suited for standard American installs and I've never seen it before. I had to drill a small hole in the silver metal bracket and put a small screw then try to attach the yellow ground wire, which by the way is very cheap and thin and it took forever trying to wrap it around the screw 3. After install of all the crystal balls I could tell that the light fixture was swaying in which ever side was the heaviest for the balls that were installed. It somewhat leveled out after all 18 were on, but I am still concerned that the metal rod is flimsy and wont hold this thing and it's actually a bit crooked 4. The bulbs they provided are not dimmable and didn't work with my dimmer switches so I had to order new ones. 5. There are several nicks in the black finish. I really hope this thing doesn't come crashing down. After box open: The instructions translation to english are pretty bad, luckily I've done a similar fixture before so decided to take on the challenge. Trying to get all the white wires together and black wires together was a huge pain! wow... Getting them together is some sort of a structured nut so the wire nut can be put on together with a connected wire to the outlet. The company does not send you any adapters to help make the 36 separate connections easier. I bought another sputnik before and it came with a small adapter to help with wires. Overall, the process alone took over an hour to do between separating the wires and tying them together so they can stay put. Tested the light fixture and saw that the cheap LED bulbs they supply do not fully turn off when the switch is off so those need to be changed out. Moving forward with assembly I noticed that that the 18 crystal balls were actually in two different colors, one set of 9 was clear and the other 9 were yellowish. At this point I am waiting for the company to send one set of correct crystal balls, I am guessing they are supposed to be all Clear, so I can continue with the installation and see how this whole thing ends up being...

The media could not be loaded. TLDR: you have to assemble it, but its easy. Some of the other reviews made it sound very daunting, but it was pretty easy. I've only ever wired one lamp before this and it took me all of an hour. The instructions were trash that came with it, but the seller posted a video that walks you through it. They don't show them using wire strippers, but you're gonna need some. The internal wires are very small, so you'll need strippers for 20/22 wire thickness. Another tip if you're a wiring novice, like me, make sure you take note of which wire bundle you attach to the + and - . Once you get the fixture wired, install it. The globes that come with it are very heavy and it'll make holding it up even harder. You're probably going to need to phone a friend anyway, it makes getting it up there easier. It's a beautiful piece and gives off a lot of light. Adds interest and elegance to any space.

The cons: The light took quite a bit of time to assemble and is heavy. Additionally, I had a defective part, but the seller quickly sent me a replacement part. The pros: The light is absolutely gorgeous and is exactly what I wanted. I saw an almost identical light on a different website that was quite a bit more. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely buy it again.
