  • This has the power that I need
Size: RIVER 2 Power Station
ECOFLOW Portable Power Station RIVER 2, 256Wh LiFePO4 Battery. I just started learning about Portable Power Stations and the LiFePO4 Battery. I had a important need for auxiliary power. I am on a CPAP every night. I had power go out and no way to use my CPAP. This is a life saving medical device for me. I needed a way to power the CPAP at times my electricity was off. I had enough bottles of oxygen to make it for a couple of days, but couldn't use my CPAP. I needed a power source for at least seven hours. So I purchased this EcoFlow River 2 Power Station. When it arrived I charged it to 100%. That night I hooked up to the EcoFlow. It lasted a full seven and a half hours. That's what I needed. So the next morning I charged it up. It took about an hour to be fully charged. It is small and light weight. It weighs less than eight pounds. Size is: 9.6"L x 8.4"W x 5.5"H. The RIVER 2 Power Station came with an AC Charging Cable for charging in the house, and a DC Charging Cable that works in my vehicle, and an Instruction Manual. It doesn't come with a Solar Cable, but they are available. I have Solar panels on my house and possibly we could tap into that to charge this Power Station. The Long-Life Battery has a ten year expected life rechargeable to at least 80%. I'm 82 years old and the Power Station should last longer than me. I'm so excited about this Power Station that we are considering a full home backup system. I'm currently looking at the ECOFLOW DELTA Pro Ultra Power Station, with 2 Batteries and a ECOFLOW Smart Home Panel 2. This should give me all that I need to fully power my home. I need to get some help in determining that the DELTA Pro Ultra will supply all of my needs. These LiFePO4 Battery Power Stations are very interesting. This technology is great. The EF EcoFlow power station has been incredibly useful during power outages. While it’s not meant for heavy-duty appliances, it’s perfect for keeping smaller essentials like phones, Wi-Fi routers, LED lights, laptops, and even a small fan or mini fridge running smoothly. It charges quickly, is super easy to use, and the companion app is a great bonus for monitoring usage. It's quiet and compact, making it ideal for apartment living or anyone who just needs to keep the basics going when the power goes out. Totally worth the peace of mind it provides! ... show more

  • Great device... IF you can get it on sale (see details). Conditionally Recommended
Size: RIVER 2 Power Station
I got the ECOFLOW RIVER 2 (256Wh, 600W) because it was on a Lightning Deal for $157. Currently, it's available for $170, when a $70 coupon is applied - so it's nearly as cheap as when I bought it. Really, the RIVER 2 was an unplanned purchase, but the deal was too good to pass up. I've previously purchased a couple DELTA 2s, so I'm familiar with the brand. The RIVER 2's build quality is good, as are the controls, display, and operating ergonomics. The unit is very light, but the handle is still convenient. My use case for this is to act as a UPS for an NVR at my wife's salon/boutique. The NVR is just an SFF PC with Blue Iris installed. The power quality isn't the best, and there are the occasional power flickers that disrupt the business. The RIVER 2 acts as a UPS for the AT&T FIOS media converter, the NVR, and a PoE switch that's driving a number of WAPs and IP cameras. It's basically at the edge of its AC power budget - which is 300W (the 600W budget is the AC PLUS the DC jacks, FYI). Theoretically the runtime is about an hour, which is what I was getting with a 40lb lead-acid, line-interactive UPS previously. The only missing feature is that there's no USB/serial interface to interact with the PC - but that's not really a problem for me, as any outages tend to be seconds long. UPDATE: The River 2 has now had to deal with a number of outages in a short amount of time. No issues. I've reduced the SFF's power draw to the point where I have about 75 minutes of runtime. Just think of this as an inexpensive, line-interactive, pure sine wave UPS. Wow. I really can't overstate how impressed I am. Yes, something like an APS BE500G3 is cheaper, but I'm more interested in the River 2 as a more flexible/versatile solution. The PV input, carry handle, and generally more rugged construction make it worth the extra money. I assume my use case isn't typical. To try to make this review more helpful, I decided to try this unit with one of my solar panels. It was a little difficult to find anything that would fit within the narrow range of the solar charge controller, but I did dig up a 100W panel (~25 VoC). The unit was predicting about a 2 hour charge at 30% SoC, with 70-80W coming in. So, I think the main thing is price. At $240, I don't think this is a great deal. With the DELTA 2 routinely being on sale for double that, it's hard to think of $240 making any sense. At $157-$170, though, I think it's a pretty interesting device.
