  • Fun!
I love this little balance for showing equal parts vs. whole etc. The kids love to see what works with this. Helps them want to explore math concepts. Built sturdy. Easy to store back in box.

  • Makes abstract math concepts more concrete
Great learning tool for my grandkids. Many ways to explain and visualize math concepts! Wish I had this for my kids when they were young.

  • Great for teaching number bonds.
Students can see in real life what the abstract representation of numbers looks like, using a hands-on approach.

Great supplement for visual and tactile learners. Found this 20 yrs ago to supplement Right Start Math program. Have gifted many times to pre-school, elementary, special learners.

  • Good for learning, just be gentle with it
The concept is great and it keeps my kiddo entertained and engaged. It would be nice if it was sturdier. We have to be pretty gentle with it. Great for 5+ yo.

  • Cheaply made and not offered with math activity cards
While this balance is versatile for homeschooling my 2nd grade grandson, it is a very flimsy contraption. I had seen other offerings of this item with a set of math activity cards for use with the four operations, fractions, etc. I also saw it listed at several different prices and naturally opted for the least expensive. I did not notice that this cheaper set did not even mention the activity cards in its description. I am trying to find somewhere to purchase and perhaps download the cards from another maker. Save yourself trouble by spending a few more bucks and getting the full value with the instructional activities. We are still getting some use out of it, and the 4 y/o enjoys "playing" with it, so some value exists as is. ... show more

  • Great for Morning Math
We use this every morning in First Grade for our Math block. It's a great visual to show that math equations must equal to balance the scales. I've made this a classroom job..everyone wants it!
