Updated review to 4 stars: After a week of not connecting to Alexa (which is why I spent the extra money on the modern version) it now seems to be working just fine. Alexa will turn on and off and dim to my requested brightness. Think it will do more but that is all I was really was looking for. Remote still doesn't work even with new batteries but I really did not want another remote so that's cool with me. The company did reach out to me 2x to see how they could help so I gave them a star just for that. In the day time, it's very minimal which is exactly what I wanted. At night, it's the perfect amount of ambiance. Hard to tell with the day light pic, but It fits that corner perfectly. Fingers crossed it stay connected to Alexa but if not I always have the app. Previous review: 2 stars I bought this because it was supposed to work with Alexa, but it worked for one night and now won’t connect. It’s cute and it’s exactly what I wanted but no Alexa and the remote doesn’t work either. Haven’t tried swapping out the batteries yet. At least my phone is connecting to it. ... show more

I bought this and the Phillips hue floor lamp and you can definitely see the difference between the two. However, one costs $200 more so given the price tag, this lamp is definitely worth it.

Nice build, simple design, pretty! But even when max power isn't too bright, if you want something really really bright might not be for you. Not sure if that's normal, but the remote isn't very sensitive, I put the light behind the sofa, and the remote don't work unless the remote directly see the botton of the light base, so I took a star off for that. Product showed up two days past delivery date, opened, is slightly bent towards top and only portion that is metal is the base. The entire light- gold backing and lense is flimsy plastic. The picture online shows a warm natural glow for light which is what I wanted.. in person- closest you can get to it is either the yellow option on the remote or white.. which is a bright, sterile fluorescent hospital white. I purchased two of these lamps to use as bedside wakeup lamps during the fall/winter months to just simulate some bright sunlight in my face to help me wakeup. On their highest setting they're still a bit dimmer than I hoped for, but I'm going to try em anyways because they are actually pretty cool looking. I did plug them into smart plugs so Alexa can set them to turn on at sunrise and off at sunset because they remember their color/brightness setting when turning on/off. The remote: one remote controls both lamps, which is nice, so now I have a spare. But you really do need to at least 4 feet close and directly pointed at the lamp for it to work. Also: the additional colors for mood lighting is neat. I might buy another pair for the TV for movies and gaming. I think the price is a little high, but they're growing on me. ... show more

I love them so much that I kept buying more so now I have 4. My friend likes mine so much, she bought 3 so. I had a different one before that was black and it was flimsy. I had to return them. The silver color blends better against my gray wall in the background so the light pop even more. The on and off foot button is a great idea so I don't have to keep getting the remotes or plug in and unplug to turn them on and off. Anyway, I have no cons.
