So I bought this 2 years ago for $265. With it being $300 now I recommend just getting a new one for $30 more. Carb ran OK out of the box but needed further tuning for optimal performance. If you are going to buy this you will need a tuning kit https://amzn.com/B00062YBTS. I ended up buying an AEM Wideband A/F guage and tuned the carb to Idle at 14.7, Cruise at 14-15, and WOT 12.5-13.5. To achieve this I went to #8 tune on the 1406 charts. This carb runs great now, but was jetted differently than the 1406 i purchased for another build. This required a jet kit purchase to tune. Not sure why it was different than others. I have used the 1406 throughout the years on many different amc builds and am always pleased by the results. I will suggest if you purchase the reman performer, be prepared to a bit more tuning. ... show more

This was a brainless installation. Truly four bolts and a fuel line. Other than idle speed, it worked perfectly right out of the box. It's on a 340 Mopar and it is ideally suited to this engine. It may not make more power than the original, but it took a difficult hot starting and low speed bad temperament to silk. Probably gets better fuel mileage, but I'll never check. For the price against the performance, it's the bargain of the hot rod world. It really is what they advertise. I'll buy more for other things I have. ... show more

    • Looks clean on the outside old gas sludge still on the inside
bought this product for a 1953 f100 I am restoring. I have replaced everything from tank to carb so everything is clean and free of old stail gas. I put carb on and it fired up a couple times then wouldnt fire. I was getting gas to the carb but not thru the carb. I put on my old holley the motor came with and truck ran perfect. further inspecting the carb I started noticing a a sludge like substance. Looking further into it I took top plate off and the carb is dirty and full of old gas residue. I did not run truck long enough to have it look like this and the gas I am using I bought that day and checked to see from leftover in the can and it is clean good gas... At this point I am very disapointed... This is probably why there is only a 30 day return policy on this product.... I dont even want to give it the one star I did give it... ... show more

Only one complaint I have is it takes roughly 13 min for the electric choke to kick all the way down. Ive had it adjusted several times used to take 20 min. Of course thats in cold weather just put it on problably wont take so long in summer. Plenty of carb for my 1964 Pontiac Catalina with 389 though. ... show more
