  • Just Right
This replaced a Carter of the same design. Installation was straight forward with no glitches. Most time consuming part was cutting the air cleaner rod to the proper length to ensure a snug fit. After priming the fuel bowl the engine started on the first rotation. A couple of adjustments for idle and choke settings and READY TO CRUISE. It was installed in a 1937 Ford Slantback with a Chevy 350. Finally, it was also considerably less than at the local speed shop who told me this carburetor was no longer available! Checked the manufacturer date, February2024. Thank you to the seller and Amazon Prime. ... show more

  • Great carb
Car started right up with carb straight out of box..SBF 302 carb was very rich and took a call to edelbrock for the correct metering rod.

  • Perfect choice for 1966 mustang 289
This was the perfect choice to upgrade my stock 1966 mustang with 289. Easy bolt on and fired up and ran perfectly with minor adjustments out of the box. Top quality. Suggest adding the edelbrock insulating spacer to prevent hot start issues since our modern gas has so much damn ethanol in it!

  • May not be worth upgrading
I bought the 1901 AVS2 to replace a 1403 Performer carburetor. Nothing wrong with it 13 years old and still works like new. I was under the impression that the AVS2 was WAYYYYY better. It's not. I can't tell any difference between the two as far as idle, throttle response or power. The only thing the AVS2 has going for it is the adjustable secondary. With the 1403 there is no adjustment , so when the pedal is floored in the slant 6, 4 speed/ headers/ cam/ gear/ it makes that secondary wooooooooh sound as the car is picking up speed and power. I have been driving a slant 6 for almost a year with the 1403. Put the 1901 yesterday and now I know that this purchase was not necessary. So for those of you considering upgrading your Performer carb to an AVS carb, read my post. ... show more

  • Great carb, 500 cfm
I put this 1901 AVS2 500 cfm on my 302 engine in a 67 Mustang. The throttle response does seem great. I had the tune idle speed and mixture according to manifold vacuum.
