For this kind of product, a safety device needs to be designed to prevent children from mishandling it, but it is not seen on it, at least I can lift the knife relatively easily. Other than that, everything else is pretty good.

I like that has a safety feature. I like that it is lightweight. I like that the blade is sharp. I wish it had rubber feet to keep it in place on the surface it is placed.

This is a basic paper cutter, which does what it's supposed to do. I was able to cut several paper sheets without any problem, as well as a medium stock cardboard sheet. The magnetic guide is a nice touch, and the ruler markings on the cutting surface are helpful for aligning material straightly. The 4 feet have hard plastic bottoms, which allow the cutter to slip/slide if/when used on a hard surface - so I'd recommend putting some of those felt furniture pads on the feet. While this is not a heavy-duty cutter with the durability for professional daily office usage - it is more than suitable for typical home/hobby usage. ... show more

This is the best paper cutter I have ever owned. I have been using the sliding one but you really can't cut more than a few papers or card stock at once with it. This one is so much easier to use. I can line it up perfectly straight with the guide and I really like the guard to keep fingers safe during cutting. It helps cut down on time and keeps my cuts straight. I thought I would like the sliding cutter better but nope, this cutter is amazing. I even find other teachers asking to borrow it from me! It's not too heavy and does an amazing job. Anything to make life easier is a must have. You need this cutter if you are wanting something that is easy to use and figure out and gets the cut right the first time. ... show more

Space is a premium in my classroom and this paper cutter is perfect for that. I can safely tuck it away in a corner where students don't have access to it. Its very lightweight so it is no problem to keep it in one spot and carry it to another to use. It fits into a pretty small area, the construction was easy, and it has no problems cutting if you stick to the recommended 15 pieces at a time. ... show more

We're using it for making card stock door hangers and flyers and wow, does it make quick work of card stock! Alignment is a breeze, and cutting through 10 sheets at once is manageable with no issues on cut performance (no tearing, nice edge). Very handy and helpful for making large quantities of flyers! I like the sturdy metal base on the paper cutter, paired with the magnetic paper guide that locks in place very well. The blade is sharp and I had no issues cutting multiple sheets of paper at once, as well as thin cardboard. This works great for small dimensions. The frame and platform are metal. The blade is metal. The only thing that is plastic is the handle and the guides. Cuts paper smooth and fast, even when it is just a very slight trim. It is tight enough to not tear the edge. I suggest revising the instructions about the handle to remove the reference to girl strength not being enough to seat the plastic piece. It was super easy but if you want to say a rubber hammer might be required do it without saying anything about girl strength. (see pic) ... show more
