I love this pad. I'm glad it doesn't have the fur ruff as many others have. It's simple yet well made and it helps my dressage saddle sit perfectly on my horse's back. It works best for me without any shims at all. He seems happier with it and doesn't stumble during shoulder in anymore.

I purchased this pad out of desperation as I had an endurance ride coming up and the flocking in my dressage saddle had compressed and it was dropping too close to my horses's withers. Tree is too wide. With some adjustment of the foam shims in the pad, problem solved! My horse had zero back soreness after the ride and it stayed put. The form shims are pretty cheap and flimsy but they work.

The pad is well constructed and has four separate pouches of padding; on each side of the withers and on the sides of the back (seat of saddle area). Fillers can be removed or added for perfect fit. Pad can be machine washed. I LOVE it!

I took out all the shims on this saddle pad. The quality of the material seems sturdy, but I’m not sure I like how stiff it is, especially the line in the center. I was worried how the line down the middle would affect my horse’s spine, as I’ve recently heard this can be an issue with pads like these (but I am by no means an expert on this subject).

The price was right and I can change the angle slightly with the shims. Even with a good saddle fit, it helps to elevate the back of my saddle because my mare has such high withers it is difficult to get saddle fit perfect all the time. This is nice quality cotton, and it doesn't seem to slip with my dressage pad. I did some hills as my test and this pad passed with flying colors. Great buy and good value.
