  • Quiet and compact
I purchased a Tetra 77850 Whisper Air Pump, upto 100-Gallon last December. That pump was always a bit loud but it grew to be an annoyance. Our tank is located in our living room and I got fed up with having to turn the TV volume up to drown out the pump. I purchased this EcoPlus 2 Air Pump, 2 Outlets last week and I could not be more pleased. It is decibels quieter and is actually more powerful. I have one 18" submersed bubble bar and one treasure chest in my 20 gallon tank. The lines are run to a gang valve and then a line runs to the pump. This pump is capable of supplying both the bar and chest with the proper amount of flow on the lowest setting. My old Tetra pump had no flow setting control - I considered this and its noise its two downfalls for me and my setup. I really like the setting control knob on the top of the pump, although I do not see myself needing to turn it up from the lowest setting since with my current setup turning the knob any higher causes my treasure chest to darn near float. LOL! This pump is certainly a very nice device that I foresee lasting me quite some time. When it does come time for a replacement, I will not hesitate to purchase another EcoPlus. ... show more

  • Great product, on low is quiet, high quality material, high output.
Using this to power my DWC and it has been working great. Run each line to there own 5 gallon bucket with a 2 inch cylinder stone and they are making my plants happy. I would buy again if needed, the adjustable knob is a great feature and on low it runs very quiet. When you turn it up to the highest setting it does get a little on the noisy side but puts out a lot of air. Great product made of high quality materials. Although the one I received does not look like the one pictured (I think the one I received is newer and looks better) it is well worth the money. ... show more

  • Overall a good pump
I like this pump for its ability to brew organic tea for my plants. I find that it moves a lot of air if I use two large stones in a 1-2 gallon container. The fittings are very snug and keep the lines in place firmly, which is a real problem for many pumps. My one complaint is that it makes a terrible noise on high. If I keep it at around 80% max, I hear almost nothing. And I don’t notice much of a bubbling difference between max high, and just below max. ... show more

  • Works fine
I use this for drying tubing and hoses for brewing and hydration (e.g. CamelBak tubing). When I set it on high and route both outlets through the tubing using a tee fitting, it can dry about three feet of 3/8" silicone tubing in roughly an hour, depending on humidity and temperature. You can use it to dry bottles and bladders as well. It is not very loud, but I would in no way describe it as silent. On the high setting, I can hear it from a room or two away, although it would not significantly interfere with a conversation a few feet away. It would be annoying to me to sleep with it in the same room on the high setting. I might tolerate it on the low setting. ... show more

  • GREAT flow! 40 dB isn’t quiet but not too loud.
GREAT FLOW! Slightly louder than previous pump but the flow (output) is totally AWESOME! It is about 40dB so there is a slight hum. But put it on a towel and it drops by 1/2. The best part is the awesome flow! I measured two pumps in a lab and this one cost $1 more is twice as loud but has 3X the flow. It is claimed to supply 7.9 lpm but I measured 5.17. Closer than the cheaper one (claimed 4 lpm actual 1.58) ... show more

  • Great pump for a great price!
We started an aquaponics system and needed a pump to provide aeration. Every article we read about this said you can't have too much to keep the fish thriving, so we searched for a two port air pump that will double our bubbles. This one did the job nicely and is still blowing bubbles like there's no tomorrow. Seems to be a pretty strong pump. No complaints! We used two pieces of air tubing and attached a huge aeration ring on one and another aeration airstone on the other. Both put out vast numbers of bubbles (I don't know how you can tell if one pump does more bubbles than another, but it looks like a lot to me). The fish seem happy--haven't had one die yet. The extra port really is a bonus if we were to insert an activity aeration toy, but since we intend to eat these fish we figured they would provide their own entertainment. We don't want to get too attached! ... show more

  • Good outdoor air pump for our small pond.
The solar air pump that I bought for our small outdoor pond died in less than a year. Perhaps it wasn't designed for continuous use. This one seems must more reliable but must be plugged in. Another plus is the dial on top that allows you to adjust the volume of air flow. I'm keeping it (and the old one) under cover so the motor doesn't get wet. ... show more

  • THIS PUMP HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED BY THE MANUFACTURER
DO NOT BUY!!!!! I've had 3 break within 6 months of first power on!!!! Every single EcoPlus air pump is considered new old stock by Hawthorne, who bought the company a couple years ago and quietly discontinued production. If you contact them they will refuse parts, service, refund or replacement because the manufacture date on these are beyond the scope of the warranty on the box. In other words "it sat on the shelf too long before you bought it so we won't honor the warranty" Hawthorne is the worst company on Earth!! Avoid all their brands and buy everything you can from other manufacturers. ... show more
