Description

Ecolution Original Microwave Micro-Pop Popcorn Popper, Borosilicate Glass, 3-in-1 Silicone Lid, Dishwasher Safe, BPA Free, 1.5 Quart - Snack Size, Red. Troubleshoot: HOW MICROWAVES WORK : Microwave ovens heat by producing electromagneticwaves that cause water molecules in food to vibrate. This vibration produces heat. Microwaves do not “see” glass or plastic. Never place the popper in the microwave oven empty. Damage to your oven can occur. IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION : Read before use : It is very important to use fresh kernels that have not dried out and to store them in an airtight container to maintain their moisture. Popcorn kernels do not last indefinitely. Do not refrigerate kernels as this can dry them out. Do not use kernels past the manufacture's expiration date. WARNING! Dried out kernels can cause damage to your microwave and in extreme cases, even cause fires. Based on our kitchen tested time of 2½ minutes (without butter), average for most microwaves, popping should begin in 60-90 seconds. Understand your microwave by running a few tests with fresh kernels to establish the amount of time your microwave needs to pop the kernels optimally. Pay attention to the amount of time it takes for kernels to begin to pop. Use this as a guideline for future uses to avoid burning. IF KERNELS HAVE NOT STARTED TO POP WITHIN 2 MINUTES STOP THE OVEN, DISCARD THE KERNELS AND OBTAIN NEW, FRESH KERNELS.

  • Use this product a lot and love it
Size: 3-Quart Family Size Color: Aqua
Easy to use. The lid is used for a measuring cup. I put 2 “cups” of popcorn in the glass bottom put the lid back on then microwave for 3 minutes. I get tasty, no oil, popcorn that is fluffy and tasty. I’ve used the lid with butter which I guess is supposed to drip down but I prefer to spray a bit of olive oil on the popcorn and add salt and brewer’s yeast. Enjoy the ease, the popcorn and easy cleanup. A winner. Great gift too. ... show more

  • Great popcorn maker!
Size: 3-Quart Family Size Color: Aqua
Works perfectly! I used Orville R. kernels. Super easy to hand wash/clean up. Don't overfill, as it will burn. Use the recommended “two lidfuls” or maybe slightly less - makes a LOT. Just experiment. Recommend!

  • Works great and is easier than stove top!
Size: 1.5-Quart Snack Size Color: Teal
I love popcorn and this makes it so easy to make! A better measuring method for how much popcorn can be made at a time would be helpful because one lid only makes a small amount (probably the appropriate amount for one person, but I like an inappropriate amount at a time). The handle doesn't get hot so it's easy to take out and the smaller size is the perfect size for my microwave. I don't know if the large one would be too tight of a fit. The popcorn pops well but you do have to keep an eye on it because kernels get stuck and burn easier when you don't use anything to cook them with. I used butter flavored coconut oil and it was perfect and I didn't have any issues with it melting through to the kernels. ... show more

  • I really like this corn popper
Size: 3-Quart Family Size Color: Aqua
A couple reasons for bad results popping corn. The service life of a microwave is 5 to 10 years depending on how much it's used, the length of cook time and its Megatron quality. As one ages, it slowly loses power, thus eventually lousy popcorn results. The moisture necessary in the kernel to pop (explode) the corn has dissipated with old popcorn. To compensate, extending the microwave time can then then burn the corn before it's popped. I have been adding 25-30g avocado (healthy) oil in with the corn (1/4 cup Orville Redenbacher) at the start and 3 minutes microwave time with good results. Today I re-read the popper manufacturers instructions for using butter or margarine in the lid. I had never done it that way as stated earlier. I just made popcorn with 30g "I can't believe it's not butter" margarine in the lid at start like suggested by the manufacturer. I knew it would splatter doing it that way so I placed my frying pan splatter guard on top of the popper lid. Soon after starting the microwave I heard lots of grease popping from the margarine. The splash guard caught the splatters, disaster averted. The following is about microwaves if interested. As a microwave advances in age, they slowly lose their power because the Magnetron is wearing out, it the energy heart of the microwave. The more the microwave is used, especially for long cooking times, the shorter it's lifespan. Typically, most microwaves have a lifespan of 5 to 10 years according to two articles I read. My first ever microwave/convection oven (Sharp, $550 in 1983 from Service Merchandise) lasted about 40 years. It weighed over 40 pounds, I suspect the Megatron and power supply to power it is why so heavy. It's power was a whopping 65 watts, a big deal back then, included a turntable no one else had yet. There was only one brand of prepackaged microwave popcorn that it could pop. It's life ended a few years ago with a really loud bang during a too long cooking period. It's last years were mostly as a back up oven/microwave. I didn't have the heart to toss it years earlier but when it let go with a bang it was time to say good by. An amazingly engineered oven. ... show more

  • Works okay but not the ideal popper I was hoping for.
Size: 3-Quart Family Size Color: Teal
I was excited to try this after the glowing reviews I read here. The reasons were that the handle seemed to solve a problem I’ve had with our current microwave popper. With our current one, you have to pick it up at the rim of the popper, which is very hot. With the handle on this one, I felt it may solve this issue. It does, but the popper itself is a bit of a disappointment. While the lid/butter dispenser is a nice touch for melting butter as it pops, it doesn’t hold enough butter for me to make it worthwhile. There are also kernels that are unpopped, which could be related to fresh corn, but I keep unpopped corn in a sealed container when not in use. Pros: Handy handle to hold onto when corn is popped. The measuring cup top is used to measure the proper amount of corn. This top also doubles as a butter reservoir to melt butter over the corn as it is popped. Diswasher safe. Cons: The measuring cup top is just okay if you don’t like a lot of butter on your corn. Some unpopped corn on each batch. Popcorn tends to stick to the sides of the popper, and loosening it with your hand risks a burn as the popper is very hot. For the casual popcorn fan or someone in a small apartment with limited storage space, this will do the trick. ... show more

  • Perfect Popper
Size: 3-Quart Family Size Color: Red
Yeah, I’ll be using this almost daily. Good thing it’s so cute, it can sit out on the counter. Made a batch with a frozen chunk of butter on the top, gives it a bit of a nutty taste along with the butter flavor. Going to try it with no butter during popping, add it after. It makes the perfect amount for 2 people. Love it! ... show more
