Perfect for my requirements. My car sits outdoors for weeks at a time. I do not have a garage, so a plug-in battery tender would require an extension cord, which is not ideal in bad weather. Someone mentioned a solar version, which sounded like a great idea, except most of the ones I found used an always powered on cigarette lighter socket or battery clips (which would be a pain as well). I noticed this model has an OBD II connection which is always powered on. Perfect. I was not sure how much length I would need because, I was not sure where I was going to place the solar panel. So, I bought a 12 foot extension for $6. Turns out, the extension was not needed after all. The 6 foot length was enough to get me to my drivers side rear window. I was planning on keeping it plugged in while I drive, but the instructions say not to keep it plugged in when starting, so I just plan on unplugging it when I go out. I tested the battery level before plugging in the OBD II and after, to make sure it was charging. So, this should work out well for me. Winner!

Seems to work although I'm yet to see the indicator flashing green which would indicate battery fully charged, despite brand new battery and multiple days in full sun. Perhaps the draw on the battery when car is off is slightly greater then the charging speed. Multimeter seems to indicate that the battery is trickle charging.

this is a great trickle charger for my Nissan Frontier. the OBDII works great. i cant use the plug in adapters because when then truck is turned off those plugs are turned off. Having the OBDII gaves me another way to keep the battery topped off in the cold weather and then the battery cable connectors for the other times of the year when the solar panel can be on the outside of the truck. This is a must have if your vehicle is sitting for days to help keep your battery in tip top shape. it comes with different ways to attach it to your vehicle. and there is also a light on the back of the solar panel that lights up to let you know that its working sending charge to your battery.

Product does not work. Easily hooked up to a freshly topped off battery (using traditional trickle charger). After 4 days a direct, bright California sun, not only did it NOT keep the battery full, it seemed to actively drain it faster. I double checked the polarity as well, so that wasn't the issue. It was connected directly to the battery using a quick-connect plug attached to the battery terminals themselves. Attemots to reach eco-worthy went unanswered. You're better off (and will get actual value!) spending the money you'd pay for this on a traditional trickle charger with proven tech from a more reliable company.

Works great, my truck battery would lose its charge as I only use it once a week. This keeps it at full charge even in winter. You can just plug it into your vehicle computer to charge your battery.

There's a green led light indicator on the solar panel which supposedly tells you if the charger is working properly. The problem is the led is always lit when the panel is exposed to sunlight even when it's not connected. Also it doesn't come with cigarette lighter adapter. I should have researched more before buying this item. Similar price item like Vevor has controller and 20W power.

This is a great product because of the use of a obd plug into the engine diagnostic plug to provide solar power directly to the battery. No need for separate power from a 12 volt lighter plug to charge the engine battery Had a problem with missing parts and the company provided them in good order would buy from this company again!
