I researched just about every offering of in-wall cable management systems on the market and boiled it down to two contenders. I ordered and compared both units and went with the Echogear (glad I did). Personally… I liked the fact that it was black in color. The black flows with the color of the bracket assembly and the lower connection hub cosmetically gets set apart from the rest of the electrical system of the house. The unit is solid! Although the upper section is larger than the other unit I was comparing it to, the upper section has four flip out mounting dogs vs the two found in the other unit (and they were steel). The unit is mostly pre-assembled when you get it and very easy to install. The outlet accommodates any TV plug and the additional USB power outlets were a welcome option (for powered antennas, sound bars, etc). The pass through for the low voltage cables will easily accommodate your HDMI, CAT5, or RG6 wires, and the lower input section mounts quick and easy as well. The unit seems to be manufactured by Legrand and marketed thru Echogear. It’s quality through and through, and even the power cable that goes up thru the wall is an in-wall rated Romex type wire. No need to drag risky extension cords up thru your wall when there are affordable, high quality options like this available to you. Do it right!!! ... show more

The reciptical head is very ridged not cheap plastic that warps when you tighten it down to the wall. The usb power supply ports makes a clean wire bundle With no extra wall warts from fire stic or other hdmi input units.

The product is well built and great qualify materials. Easy enough to install and makes the job look professional. It is a large system but reasonable for what is needed. Looks great once installed and they thought of everything needed. I didn't use their instructions to know if helpful as it was self explanatory to me on how to install. Although this kit was very simple to install I was very disappointed to find the black kit that I ordered actually came with a white extension cord to connect to existing power.
