The rower is great. Careful not to let handle go free or you may have to reseat the strap back on pulleys. If your device is not registering miles or strokes your magnet reader is probably just out of position. It has a two pronged sensor on port side of lower wheel. Just reposition it (turn sensor) as close to the wheel with the magnet as possible and check for changing reading. The model I got had bluetooth which can connect to some other apps in theory but not all. I wanted to get it to show the water apps on the big TV. So, if you have an iPhone look at the pictures above. Swipe down from the upper right corner to bring up control screen then click on screen mirroring shown with blue marker. If your Roku or other stream capable device shows up click on it. and WHAM giant water rowing via screen mirroring your app of choice. You need both iphone and smart TV/ Roku to be on the same network and on. You may have to play around with the app to connect the blue tooth to your rower to get data. As for the rower. It is heavy duty and very functional. The rubber stopper that stops rear movement at max broke off from my kid sliding around on it. But it just hits metal seat to metal bar now if you go to far. I will put a pad there or something. You shouldn't be going that far back rowing anyway. Make sure you put the included crystals in the water or something else so you don't grow slime. Updated review: I am updating my review of this rowing machine. I wasn't able to open the package and set up the machine immediately after delivery and I was outside of the return period. However, this company was extremely responsive to my initial complaints and in making sure my issues got resolved. I can appreciate a company that cares about it's brand and customers enough to make sure all issues are brought to a positive resolution. I purchased this rowing machine in Dec 2022 however opened the box and put it together July 2023 after getting my workout room in my home fully together. Upon opening the item, noticed screws and other small pieces rattling around freely in the box which appeared to have been from a small packet that was unsealed where the screws should have been. It was like someone took them out and unsuccessfully tried to shove them back in the packet. The other packet with small pieces had the shrink wrap completely missing and whoever returned it just wrapped the pieces in packing tape attached to a piece of cardboard. There was also a large, very visible scratch along the side of the flywheel or main portion where the brand name is. After getting it put together and testing it out, the machine cut out after a few minutes and started over. Did the same thing the following day. I'm disappointed that I received what appears to be a used, faulty item after paying for it brand new. ... show more

The instructions were helpful. It didn't take long to have it running. Mostly put together already so that's awesome. This thing is quiet!!! Within 10 minutes I'm sweating up a storm. The foot holds are ok, you do have to wear shoes for the straps to work as they are made to. Overall, I'm impressed. Worth the cost and I'm glad I purchased it. I live in a climate where it's rainy most of the year and this will come in very handy. I did find a random screw loose on the box, but it doesn't seem to go to the machine itself so I'm not sure what's up with that. The monitor works good too. ... show more

this is the second water rower I have purchased in the past month, The first one (different brand) broke the hub from the water wheel after 15 minutes of use so I decided to go up in price slightly hoping for a little better quality. What I found was the water wheel design is the same as the original but seems to be a little more sturdy. The main issue I have had thus far is the rear leg bending away from the frame. I am 6' 5" and have decent power in my legs, when I start really pushing, the rowing machine tends to lift a little in the front and pushes backward. This seems to have started to cause the rear leg to pull from the main beam, bending it down at the mounting hole. I fixed this by pounding it back and welding a small plate covering the main tube instead of the plastic cap. The second issue is the foot straps. Now I don't really pull against the straps when I am rowing but I do tend to snug them up tight to keep my feet from sliding around. When I went to pull the straps tight on the 5th use, the left strap broke free from the mounting whole. The little plastic wall that the strap loops through snapped. I rerouted the strap under the foot pad to compensate but this was just a poor design. The app,.... the app is nothing to write home about but does allow a better screen to view rowing metrics and it also allows you to keep a log of each session. This is nice but that is about as far as it goes with the usefulness. The videos are only helpful if you are very new to rowing and will get old quickly as each video starts with how to setup and get strapped into your machine. Most of the other none tutorial videos are of water ways from China? and although I understand in an actual boat you row facing backward, it feels off when watching it on a video. This could just be me but that is my view. All in all this machine has been taking the beating I have been giving it and is working for my needs. As long as you keep the couple issues in mind it will work good for many of those serching for a budget friendly water rower. ... show more

I was pleasantly surprised to see how nice this rower was once it was delivered and I put it together. Assembly was super easy and I love the sound of the water every time I use it. It has a free app but I use it with my Peloton app to do the row classes there. It’s smooth and pretty quiet. Love it!! ... show more
