I bought this pack because I use much more black and white than other colors of my paint markers. Probably the usual reason. I have used around 5 or 6 different brands of paint marker over the last few years. The majority of them, when dry, leave a matte or slightly satin finish. This b+w pack, however, dries glossy. Because of that, they don't match the other ones I use. They are usable, but more difficult to paint over, and must be coated with a varnish if I want other colors used to match the finish. I have used 2 white and 2 black markers from this set so far. They work just fine, and have a decent pigmentation level. However, upon my first use of the first white one, I noticed I had white paint all over my hand. After closer inspection, I realized that the top of the marker (where the tip area screws on) was bleeding paint out of it. I couldn't unscrew it (because they're not made to do that easily) but I wiped it off, hoping to fix the issue; but it continued to leak severely from that area. It made that white one useless. I ordered these paint pens to supplement my art supplies for the many craft projects I do for myself and with kids. Black and white are the essential colors especially for outlining and detail work. I've tried other acrylic pens which were more like markers and could smear if water was applied afterwards; these are truly acrylic paint pens that once paint has dried it does not smear from water.
