How do I clean or wash my pack? Submerge the pack in water without soap and then letting it hang dry, or hose it down at the car wash or your driveway and again letting it hang dry. So far its an amazing little day pack. Its just the right size to tuck in behind you and not get caught on every branch as you push through the brush. The full zip beaver tail panel has a nice soft inside where you can attach velcro panels in there for holsters to med kits to admin pouches or add morale patches. The zippers are nice and stout but smoothe. I always use zipper lube on mine to just make sure that I can rip them open to get to what I need in the bag quickly. Its a great price for such a tough and functional little bag. I can load it out with my smallest and lightest camp gear and fit the tent mesh liner, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, plus the stove, cup, rain top and rain kilt, 3L CNOC bladder and Platypus filter, water bladder spot is perfect for a 2.5L bladder as the water bladder retention strap is a little long and let's the bladder slip down a couple inches. Its fairly light weight for being made of heavy duty nylon. The side pockets are big enough for a 32 oz Nalgene or the taller 48oz. The other side i keep my 16oz nalgene i use for electrolytes and a sit pad. The straps are slightly padded and comfortable plus it had load lifter straps on them but I have not used them yet. The back pad is really thick and comfortable to have good air flow on the back. The only complaint I have is the reservoir tubing only has a hole on the left side to come out of the bag as I usually route mine on the right side and I like to keep my kits loaded out the same way. The top brain pouch is good for admin stuff or smaller items with a key retainer and a couple little pouches. Its good for items that may beed quicker access or things that could get lost in the main compartment. Then the laser cut MOLLE panel is where I keep the poncho rain fly for my tent. I use the Six Moon Gatewood Cape and inner bug net. Then there are tie off loops on the side to add caribeaners to keep retention of the items in the side pockets or maybe you could use them and add more MOLLE pouches ... show more

Very comfortable, well designed, and lightweight day pack. However as a lot of people have already mentioned, it’s just a little bit smaller than I was expecting. This is perfect for a 1 day pack, I just wish they made a “Bandit XL” or something intended as a 72 hour bag. If they made one with an extra 3” width, 1” deep, and 4” taller (but kept the design exactly the same) I would buy that bag in a heartbeat. It is my favorite backpack. I use it for traveling, work, and leaving in my truck for long drives. I want to get another to have in my truck as a per many backpack in there. It is very versatile with multiple pockets and attachment points. The straps are comfortably and can be adjusted for different people’s height. The zippers and fabric are very rugged and what you would expect from Eberlestock. It can store a lot and very comfortable to walk around with and even fits under the plane seats well. ... show more

The Eberlestock Bandit is an absolutely AWESOME pack that is good for just about everything. Anybody familiar with the brand knows that pretty much their entire lineup is supremely well put together and durable, always comfortable, and are all loaded with features, so I won’t go too into all that. This pack is ideal of a day-trip of hiking, fishing, it can be a good work pack, larger medical bag, smaller bug-out bag, or just an EDC pack that can hold anything you’d need for a short period. It is NOT a large pack and is not meant for more than about a day’s worth of chow, clothing, or essentials. With that, it also might not be ideal for work or school if your computer/tablet or books are bigger than 13-16 inches because it simply isn’t very wide. But I take mine with me almost everywhere as an EDC pack that holds my tablet, rain jacket, some snacks, power bank, charging cables, CCW, a flashlight, and a multi-tool with plenty of room to spare. I also like sally take mine fishing and can store a day’s worth of food, my chest rig, extra tackle, water bladder, rain jacket, and I can lash a rod to the side. Then it’s also my day-pack when I go camping. And again, with all that, there is still plenty of room. Again, excellent pack, excellent quality, and is a decent price. Buy one!     • Great (if a bit odd) pack.

Make no mistake, it's a quality pack -- no doubt. Very robust and rugged. Yet I'm on the fence about keeping it, for a variety of reasons. My purpose for it is to serve basically as a range bag for both pistol shooting and target archery. And, I know, I know: "just get a proper freakin' range bag." Which, maybe I will. But I like to do things "different," and one thing I sort of hate is to have something like a bag that's specifically dedicated to one task, in a way that forces me into organizing my gear the way it wants me to. I like to adapt a more general purpose bag to what I want it to do. I thought this bag might just be my "holy grail," but I'm not sure. I can load it with two full size pistols, each in Savior 9x12 envelopes, along with a 5 mag pouch, my ear protection, and a few boxes of ammo. It's a tight fit but it does work. Or I can get in a couple recurve risers, limbs, and all my archery accessories. So, basically it does serve its purpose, but that's all it can fit. If I'm packing out to an outdoor location, to shoot, and need to bring water and maybe some food or a jacket -- probably not going to happen. Or at the very least I'll have to settle on taking just one gun. So size is something of an issue. It would be a bit more ideal were it a tad bigger. And then the way it loads and unloads is a bit odd. I'm not sure I really see much use for the molle panel out front. I mean, maybe, but if I attach anything too heavy to it, then it becomes a bit of a pain to flop it down any time I need full access to the pack. Same goes if you have anything heavy in the lid compartment. It makes it a bit unwieldy to open the pack fully if you have much in the lid. So, again, overall it's pretty decent and potentially usable for my purposes. But I might yet send it back and continue the search. EDIT: I've decided to keep the pack. After re-reviewing all the other possible options out there, then doing a few load-out scenarios, and using it for to/from the range, I've decided it's the best pack in this size range and configuration. The main thing that's got me hooked is how ridiculously durable and "structured" the bag is. For a heavy-ish load-out (like a few boxes of ammo, two or three pistols, ear pro, etc.), I want a bag that holds its shape + rigidity and won't start to wear excessively from the weight and being tossed around. I think this bag will fit that bill. Also, side-note, the aforementioned 9X12 Savior pistol envelopes truly do not fit well into the pack. I tried a slightly smaller pistol zip case, and they pretty much fit perfectly. I can go 3 handguns in the pack, now, no problem -- and that's as many guns as I ever want to bring to the range, anyway, so it's fine. Depending on your purpose, I'd definitely recommend the pack. Plain and simple this is an amazing bag. It's incredibly durable and seems to be very well made. To those of you complaining about the size? That's on you for not understanding what 15l or 935 c.i. looks like, but to those of you who are looking for a bag for movement and speed this is the bag for you. The bag is rather narrow on the inside. It will not hold a laptop, but it it does hold my iPad air perfectly in the back against the water bladder compartment (it will not fit in the compartment). Furthermore, when completely packed it more or less qualifies as a "personal bag" in addition to a carry on on every flight I've been on (even though the dimensions may be larger than what is measured as a personal item on most airlines websites it fits EASILY beneath the seat in front of you. For those of you thinking this is a great bug out bag? It is not. It is too small. However, it's an excellent dayhike, Every Day Carry bag, or a great Get Home Bag that you keep packed and in your car if you need to go a short distance. This is a great bag for someone who wants to move quickly and unencumbered. One negative, but not negative enough to remove a star, is that you can really load this bad boy up with weight, but with the lack of hip belt the weight rests heavily on your shoulders which can get somewhat tiring. ... show more

Great pack. At first I thought it seem to be smaller than I like but if you know how to lad it up it will fit everything I need just fire. It sits a little bit higher on the back than what I am used to. That does help it distribute the weight quite well. And is makes it lighter on the back.

I got this bag but I was disappointed in my self more than anything. I work in emergency management and wanted to get a fancy A bag. I was hoping despite the dimensions this would work, but sadly this is to small. I kept this bag through because the craftsmanship of this bag is utterly amazing compared to Propper/5.11 which is pushed hard. I can probably purpose this bandit bag for something else like comms or holding day rations but we will see. If you find yourself in my position, get the next sized up bag, the quality goes beyond. ... show more
