This 16-piece stoneware set from Fortessa is great and I am really pleased with it. Stoneware dinnerware is known for its durability though it is prone to chipping. It often has a rustic, some might even say masculine look but this particular Fortessa set comes in an attractive matte-finish, not the typical thick glaze of most Stoneware. The linen color makes it attractive enough to be used in a minimalist formal dining setting as well as something you would use everyday. It does not have visible speckling and the texture is smooth to the touch. This set a great choice for dinnerware if you are looking for something for everyday use. It is durable, solid and not too heavy. While some Stoneware sets can weigh up to 16 pounds (service for 4) , the Fortessa weighs in at 12 pounds. It is not so heavy as to be cumbersome, something to consider when shelving weight is a concern. It is micro-wave and dishwasher safe as well as suitable for use in an oven at temperatures 400º and below. The bowls are nice and deep. The salad plate is a generous 5.75" wide and complement the 10.75" wide place quite nicely. The cups have a thinner than expected rim for stoneware and the elegantly shaped handle is comfortable. If you like quiet elegance and something that is suitable for everyday use you will be well pleased with this product at a reasonable price. If you are looking for something with a little more razzle-dazzle then I would pass.

I have to admit…once these arrived and I removed from the box I was extremely pleased and then I was thrown off. I looked at the edges and first thought was “ who was learning to throw pottery on a wheel their first day and decided to sell it?” I couldn’t believe how wonky the edges were. Then, the more pieces I withdrew, the more I realized every piece had the same affliction. Then, with more thought and review, I realized it was actually a pattern and designed to be that way. After realizing this, and the more acquainted with the set I got, I really liked it. It gave it that farmhouse feel or hand thrown charm and now I love it. The set is very heavy duty. The finish is smooth and not glossy but more of a matte finish. The handle on the cup has elegance and charm and this gives a great minimalist feel and look. This is the perfect size for us and our family. The cup fits right in our hands when held. The plate the perfect size for a smaller serving and the bowls shaped similarly to a rice bowl and holds chop sticks on the top with the pattern on the rim. As seniors, this set is the perfect size for us. It’s our new daily set since it’s dishwasher, microwave and oven safe. Our formal set is home thrown ceramic with a glaze that easily chips. Because this is heavy stoneware, I know it will hold up better over time. This is a lovely set that should last us the rest of my years. And with the soft, minimalist coloring, and overall charm it will go with my farmhouse styling with ease.

I figured I’d do something a little different than the other reviews here and actually open the box and use these before writing anything. First off, everything arrived perfectly packaged in the manufacturer’s box and not a single piece was broken. That alone felt like a win, especially for a full dinnerware set. The very first thing I did was run the entire set through the dishwasher. They came out clean, spotless, and with zero issues. No marks, no damage, no weird residue. I absolutely love the look of this set. It has a modern matte finish with a classic off white color that works with just about anything. The shapes are what really sold me though. The pieces are not perfectly round and have more of a natural, hand-thrown feel, which gives the set a warm modern farmhouse vibe without feeling rustic or dated. The pieces feel sturdy and are a really nice, practical size. Because it’s high fired stoneware, everything feels lighter and smoother than most stoneware sets I’ve owned, which I actually prefer for everyday use. Overall, this is an excellent value for a set that looks this good. It feels like a slightly bougie everyday dinnerware set that could easily be dressed up for a nicer meal but still holds up for daily use. I’m really happy with it.

This ceramic dinnerware set is not only pretty but feels solid and well-made — exactly what you want for everyday use. It seems sturdy enough to resist chips and cracking, and the non-porous glaze is a nice bonus. The matte finish is beautiful, with just a slight shimmer that adds elegance without being glossy. I selected the classic linen color for its versatility and I think it makes a great foundation for almost any table setting. By simply changing salad plates, napkins, chargers or flatware, it can easily transition from everyday meals to seasonal themes like thanksgiving or Christmas. While it’s not meant for very formal occasions, it works well for nearly everything else. There’s a subtle wave pattern along the rims of the bowls and mugs that adds charm and gives the set a cozy farmhouse or cottage-core feel. I especially love the bowls—they’re shaped like Asian rice bowls, which makes them feel special. Being able to use the set in the microwave or oven makes it both durable and functional. Overall, it’s a lovely, practical choice for daily dining with enough style to feel special.
