Like other reviewers said, follow the directions closely! Take your time and use thin layers. Ensure that there is no sticky goo left, and it's super important to let it cool before peeling back the imprint material or you'll ruin the finish. I had an old armrest that I was struggling to find a replacement for. I ended up using this vinyl repair kit instead with pretty admirable results. There were two large tears and a corner missing that I had to fix. I think I did well after carefully mixing the colors and using their test strip. I spent about 4 working hours repairing the armrest in the attached photos. It's a pain to work so slowly on this, but it does work if you take your time. ... show more

Was using to repair minor dash board cracking on a pickup. Tried following directions and then modifying the process for over 3 hours. Results were poor at best.

    • Kit had all the items i needed to make a good repair.
Came with hot flat iron that made the job easier. Comes with everything you will need to do the repair. It is winter here in chicago so I brought the front bucket seats indoors for the repairs. Tested in area that would not be seen by anyone. The seats were reupholstered about 6 years ago. This is for a 1968 Fairlane black interior. The seats are nes and when the black vinyl cured with the heat, the color was not as black as it should be. It almost seemed to be a dark gray. on the second try, i used a black marker to darken the vinyl filler before adding the black vinyl. It helped a tiny bit but the match was not the same. ... show more

This does not work plastic dashes . the hot iron worked for about 10 min .
