Seller is great. Trumpet shipped very fast. Trumpet is very nice, albeit a bit lighter than I'm used to. Not by much though and that said the trumpet doesn't have a "cheap" feel to it. My biggest gripe with the instrument is that the valve covers on top are completely smooth outside. This is a huge product flaw. The first time it gets stuck on, there's no grip to get leverage to spin the cap off to service the valves. It would require a pair of vice grips or pliers to take them off which would surely damage the cap and possibly the valves shape which would render the trumpet broken and useless. For the price point, this is a good instrument for a returning player who understands the pitfalls this trumpet presents and not a beginner who doesn't. We complimented this purchase with a better 3C mouthpiece, matching silver straight mute, matching silver lyre music holder and cleaning kit all purchased separately. We had some issue getting the valves piled and seated appropriately prior to playing. It was not playable out of the box.. I almost returned it- but picked it back up and got it figured out. Again, for less than $200 this is a great instrument for a returning part time instrumentalist but I can't reccomend this trumpet to be played/used consistently over time. I just don't see it lasting without meticulous handling and cleaning - which a student won't understand yet. Also bear in mind that there are no finger guard inlays on the keys like most trumpets. It is a smooth polished metal surface. Not a deal breaker but contributes to the "cheap" feel. I would purchase again but under the correct conditions. I purchased for my son who is in his 3rd year playing in school band. We will see how long it lasts this time, but I probably wouldn't purchase this again for a student- I'd spend a little more for one with ribbed valve covers and pearl finger guards which is sure to add a longer lifespan to any trumpet. ... show more

I tried an earlier version of this trumpet back in 2020 i later Donated it when I purchased another brand but I began to miss the older horn so I decided to replace it and Eastrock has made great improvements since then the valves are much more flexible and they still need to be oiled regularly and the sound of this particular horn is warmer and with a variety of mouthpieces I now have that I didn't have before this horn has an even better tone your mileage may vary of course I've been using this horn for 3 weeks and I have no complaints so far a great Re addition to my collection of horns at this price there is no need to spend an outrageous amount of money on a fancy instrument ( the $500 to $1.000+range comes to mind) As I am an intermediate player I recommend this trumpet for anyone who's either starting out or returning to playing after a long absence either way this will get you started. Or if you want a fun horn to play with in addition to your regular instrument this also will serve your purpose well."Happy Playing" ... show more

It's gorgeous! (For the money) Now mind you, I've never laid hands on a trumpet before. I'm 38 years old and thought it would be good for me to learn an instrument. I've always had a deep appreciation for the trumpet. So I thought why not? But what if I just totally suck? So I really didn't want to spend a lot of money. What if I just don't keep up on this? Now normally when I want to do something I will do it whatever it takes. It's just who I am. But I wanted to make sure before I made any real investment. Honestly, it is the most beautiful case. And it's pink, Come on! So far I can tell that the 1 valve is sticking a bit. It's a bit slow to rise. I tried pulling it but it didn't change. I imagine the size isn't exactly right. The other two are perfect. The slider on the other hand is very hard. The kit does not come with grease for the slider. It also does not come with tube brush to clean your mouth piece. I have actually made some pretty decent sound. I'm really excited and quite happy I made this purchase! This was my Valentine's present from my Valentine. I am a real person (an artist) learning to play the trumpet for the first time. If you have any questions or concerns about this review our need an update or validation that this is real send me a message insta Coloursofchaos. I read through the reviews and I knew I was taking a chance. I'm glad I decided to make the purchase. Up front - this trumpet is better than nothing and would be ok as a first horn for a student.. that said, buying a better brand used student trumpet (King, Olds, Conn, Yamaha, even Bundy, etc) used would make for a more satisfying and enduring experience. The basic limitations of this horn would make it frustrating to play in an intermediate and above ensemble. I've played trumpet since 1987 and own a variety of trumpets. Bought this on a whim to see how it is. The good - it looks nice and you can play it. It's not terrible. The rest - poor intonation due to manufacturing issues, slightly rough and misaligned valves, etc. Stuffy, inconsistent sound. Sticky valves, likely due to rough spots on the pistons. Not very responsive. Compression is fairly weak. Would a student be able to learn on this? Yes. But, they will need a better trumpet in a year or two. If you're looking for value, buying a real used trumpet from a known maker will cost more up front but pay off down the road since it will last much longer. The best thing about this one is that it's cheap and resembles a trumpet. ... show more
