I've bought water heater pans before, and this is by far the thinnest-walled, flimsiest one I've seen. You could easily crumple it up in your hands, but it's not so flimsy it won't probably survive shipping. If you mean to put it on a strong flat surface and put a water heater in it, as the manufacturer intends, it should do the job -- if you're reasonably careful with it and never, say, step on the edge. If you're a pro and go through a lot of water heater pans, it probably makes sense to use something this lightweight, and, hopefully, cheap. Honestly, the last prior one I bought was probably three times as sturdy and cost about the same, but maybe prices have gone up. If you're doing a DIY job and will only (hopefully) buy one water heater pan this decade, you might spend a little more and get something sturdier. ... show more
