I have owned the 19" version of the SS brand for a couple years. Wanted another fire pit for a second house and bought the 21" East Oak. In a residential area with close neighbors so used the East Oak to burn up a large brush pile. Burned for many hours over two days and it worked flawlessly. Mostly wet brush after several rainy days - very minimal smoke when first lit -couldn't choke it - air flow is very good. It should be great with a normal patio fire. Every bit as good as the SS unit and significantly less $$. Didn't have to purchase the separate base or poker as with the SS brand. ... show more

These things are nuts. While you burn though wood faster than you would with just an open pile or pit. This is a good thing in a way. This means your fire is much more efficient. I have burned FRESH cut VERY wet pine after the fire was good and hot I just put some wet logs on and you couldn't even tell, it just super heated the water to steam, dried the logs out and then burnt them down to nothing. (Not the leaves as this just makes a ton of smoke ) I give it 4 starts only because you have to pay an extra 50 bucks to get a very important lid for keeping water out rusting your insides out faster due to wet ashes. ... show more

Have wanted one of these smokeless fire pits for a long time. Went with this one because of the great reviews and it being an “Amazon Choice”. I was looking for something that 3-4 people can sit around and enjoy an evening in the yard and the 21” version of this seems to be the perfect size for that task. Wanted something that I could put in the garage when it’s cool and not be a permanent fixture in the yard that I’d need to mow around, and the pit seems to be small and light enough that I can store it when not in use. There is nothing to really assemble per say just unwrap the components and screw the fire poker together and it’s ready to burn! I did buy a 24”x24” paver at Menards to sit the pit on as not to burn the grass. The fire pit seems well-made and not flimsy. The paint quality is also very good as I opted for the black one. It’s nice having a portable personal fire pit. Performs as expected I suppose and is holding well after a year. Mostly smokeless and warms a small once a generous overflowing blaze is going. Not really worth more than I paid for it as a warehouse deal. Should have included the lid with no handle. Doesn’t matter, eBoy to the rescue with a better cover and plain lid with no handle for a lot less than the manufacturer. Would buy again ata reduced price. ... show more

I used it only once and burned really dry birch logs . Nice no smoke….almost(don’t believe there is fireplace that produce NO SMOKE at all) Real test is to burn a little bit wet wood . I’m giving it four stars because I think it deserves. ONLY downside is rather TINY legs / stand . Looking at Solo stand is waay much higher and I think will give less of a headache when using it over wooden deck . Even I purchased additional fireproof rug still think solo base is better ( East Oak legs are little wobbly additionally) ... show more

Originally bought the medium size Tiki brand firepit and it just wasn’t large enough to hold enough wood in order to give off good heat. Was going to order the larger Tiki size but came across this East Oak brand which is even larger. Took a chance on a brand I’ve never heard of and am very impressed with this firepit. This is a fantastic fire pit! I have a 21” and it is unbelievable. So much fire from this pit and puts out some heat. Really no assembly. I have never had a fire pit that lights so easily. Just put a brown paper bag under a little kindling, light it, and in a minute add logs. You have a blazing fire! I would definitely recommend this fire pit! ... show more

Like the East Oak fire pit. Pretty much smoke free. However, the fire ring that sits on top warped during the first fire. Now that it has cooled off, the fire ring won’t sit flat !!
