I did not think this mattress pad would fluff up like the Amazon pictures show when I bought it. I wanted cotton material, so I bought it. The mattress topper was delivered in a fairly small box and was vacuum wrapped so when I took it out of the vacuum wrapped plastic it was very flat. The cotton felt good though. Per the manufacturer on the Amazon product page, put it in the sun to fluff it up. Since it was a beautiful, sunny, clear day, I laid it out in the yard while I left the house to run errands. 3 hours later I was home and checked on the mattress topper. To my surprise, it was quite fluffed up. It doesn’t fluff up in the beautiful little puffs like the product website pictures, but it was nicely puffy. You’re just going to be rolling around the bed and those beautiful photo puffs won’t be puffy when you’re laying on it anyway. I made up my bed with clean sheets, and rolled around on it. It felt pretty good. I have an 8” mattress in a box type thing with a 2” memory foam pad on top and now this mattress topper over all of it. The mattress topper has increased the comfort level. It’s not like sinking into a luxurious feather bed nor is it like a really soft pillow top mattress. It’s like a softer, more comfortable version of a mattress in a box. I slept well last night. I’m usually up and down all night because I’m at an age where that happens, but last night I slept the night through and woke up feeling well rested at 7:15am. I do not recall waking up to change position throughout the night. Some reviewers have commented on the cooling properties. The only comment I have on possible cooling properties is that I did not notice being more cool, but I wasn’t hotter than usual either. My pictures don’t show how the squares puffed up and look in real life. It looks very close to the manufacture pictures. I took a photo when I got out of bed this morning and you can see the puffy squares through my fitted sheet. I do apologize for the wrinkled state of my sheets, but they are 100% cotton sheets and I don’t iron them. If you’re looking for an affordable topper that will make your bed feel good, this mattress topper is the one. I highly recommend laying it in the sun for several hours when you unbox it. That seems to have helped a lot compared to reviews I’ve read that say it did not fluff up. ... show more

First let me say that we received this item the same day we ordered it, which was a huge plus. Our old bed frame broke and our new bed frame had just arrived (also from Amazon). Because this arrived so quickly we were able to wash and dry it and it was ready to put on the bed as we wrapped up the frame replacement. This mattress cover is A-mazing! So plush and soft! We made the bed after putting the new frame together with the new mattress cover. It was late, we were exhausted and got in bed immediately and promptly fell asleep cradled by the pillowy softness. I wish I had bought this sooner! Nice deep stretchy elastic skirt that wraps all the way around keeps in firmly in place. Buy it, you won't be disappointed...unless you don't like pillowy softness. ;) ... show more

We bought a tempra pedic plush. Adjustable frame. It was fine but just needed something… the mattresd psd wouldnt stay in place; i found this and read the reviews so i sent for the comfortable looking matress cover. I put it on and it has deep pockets and stay put! Matches the sheets. This purchase my husband was very happy that I bought Tess and we have slept comfortably every night ever since it keeps you cool and it keeps you warm I can’t explain it but it just adds that little bit more of comfort to the Tempur-pedic plush mattress, and it is just awesome. ! ... show more

My husband and I bought a new bedroom suit, upgrading our mattress size to king. We opted for a cheap mattress since we were buying the suit, with plans to replace the mattress at a later date. The mattress we purchased was memory foam. Memory foam can make you sweat, and our mattress does just that. So much so that we will likely wind up having to replace it sooner than later, not saving anything in the long run. I purchased this cover for two reasons. First, to try to cut down on the sweating. Second, I can’t wash the mattress, so I always add a mattress pad or protector that can be washed if needed. My review of this pad is that it’s sort of like a thick, fluffy comforter. It’s kind of squishy. I am not sure what I was expecting but I was going for the feel of a pillow top. It doesn’t feel like that but it doesn’t feel like you just tucked a comforter under your sheet either. All I can say is that it made the mattress a lot softer. Whether that is a good thing or not is a matter of opinion. My husband doesn’t sleep well on it but didn’t sleep well on the mattress. He still sweats but not as much (didn’t on our old pillow top - it’s the mattress). I wouldn’t say that this would resolve that issue/cool you down that much. He also says it is too soft in comparison to our daughter’s (doesn’t have the pad on her bed). I tend to think that his issues can’t be resolved without replacing the mattress and am not going to blame them on the pad. The fact is, I doubt there is a pad on the market that would make him like our current mattress any more than he does. As for me? I like it. Our old pillow top had gotten too soft for me (your core changes quite a bit when you have twins!) and I was having trouble getting in and out of bed at night to check on the kids. My hips were hurting constantly and my back spasms made it more efficient for me to just sleep on the couch. The new mattress was a bit uncomfortable for me, and this pad improved my quality of sleep tremendously. It is soft enough that my hips don’t kill me when I lay on my side at night, my back spasms have mostly stopped so that I’m better able to get in and out of bed with the kids, and I just feel comfortable when I’m laying in it. I am not someone that has ever owned an expensive mattress and this is an improvement over the egg crates we used to use when I was a kid. My mom and sister liked it enough to get one for their beds and have liked using them so far (they have the same mattress and found it uncomfortable as well.... I have not laundered mine but my sister washes hers weekly and has not complained). At the end of the day, this mattress cover is not going to make your mattress feel like a pillow top or high end mattress if it isn’t. It also isn’t going to make your mattress feel like you crammed a comforter under your sheets. It doesn’t slide around or bunch up. It is not going to solve any problems with night sweats, and it is probably going to be too soft if you like a firm mattress. What it is likely to do is add some cushion to an otherwise too firm mattress. If your mattress is so unsupportive that your hips hurt when you lay on your side at night, it might help. If you’re tossing and turning and not sleeping well because of that sort of thing, it may help. If you just want to add a little cushion, it might help. If you just want a mattress cover you can launder, it would work (I don’t believe it is waterproof but we didn’t need that). As for us, it is an okay purchase. Didn’t solve my husband’s problems but solved mine and I’m grateful for that. I’m sure that we will soon be replacing the mattress with a better quality, non memory foam one, and when we do, we won’t be using this any longer. For now, I think it was worth the money. I don’t have any complaints so I’m giving it 5 stars. That doesn’t mean it upgraded our mattress - it just means that it does what I believe it was advertised to do and I got what I expected from it. ... show more
