My husband and I bought a new bedroom suit, upgrading our mattress size to king. We opted for a cheap mattress since we were buying the suit, with plans to replace the mattress at a later date. The mattress we purchased was memory foam. Memory foam can make you sweat, and our mattress does just that. So much so that we will likely wind up having to replace it sooner than later, not saving anything in the long run. I purchased this cover for two reasons. First, to try to cut down on the sweating. Second, I can’t wash the mattress, so I always add a mattress pad or protector that can be washed if needed. My review of this pad is that it’s sort of like a thick, fluffy comforter. It’s kind of squishy. I am not sure what I was expecting but I was going for the feel of a pillow top. It doesn’t feel like that but it doesn’t feel like you just tucked a comforter under your sheet either. All I can say is that it made the mattress a lot softer. Whether that is a good thing or not is a matter of opinion. My husband doesn’t sleep well on it but didn’t sleep well on the mattress. He still sweats but not as much (didn’t on our old pillow top - it’s the mattress). I wouldn’t say that this would resolve that issue/cool you down that much. He also says it is too soft in comparison to our daughter’s (doesn’t have the pad on her bed). I tend to think that his issues can’t be resolved without replacing the mattress and am not going to blame them on the pad. The fact is, I doubt there is a pad on the market that would make him like our current mattress any more than he does. As for me? I like it. Our old pillow top had gotten too soft for me (your core changes quite a bit when you have twins!) and I was having trouble getting in and out of bed at night to check on the kids. My hips were hurting constantly and my back spasms made it more efficient for me to just sleep on the couch. The new mattress was a bit uncomfortable for me, and this pad improved my quality of sleep tremendously. It is soft enough that my hips don’t kill me when I lay on my side at night, my back spasms have mostly stopped so that I’m better able to get in and out of bed with the kids, and I just feel comfortable when I’m laying in it. I am not someone that has ever owned an expensive mattress and this is an improvement over the egg crates we used to use when I was a kid. My mom and sister liked it enough to get one for their beds and have liked using them so far (they have the same mattress and found it uncomfortable as well.... I have not laundered mine but my sister washes hers weekly and has not complained). At the end of the day, this mattress cover is not going to make your mattress feel like a pillow top or high end mattress if it isn’t. It also isn’t going to make your mattress feel like you crammed a comforter under your sheets. It doesn’t slide around or bunch up. It is not going to solve any problems with night sweats, and it is probably going to be too soft if you like a firm mattress. What it is likely to do is add some cushion to an otherwise too firm mattress. If your mattress is so unsupportive that your hips hurt when you lay on your side at night, it might help. If you’re tossing and turning and not sleeping well because of that sort of thing, it may help. If you just want to add a little cushion, it might help. If you just want a mattress cover you can launder, it would work (I don’t believe it is waterproof but we didn’t need that). As for us, it is an okay purchase. Didn’t solve my husband’s problems but solved mine and I’m grateful for that. I’m sure that we will soon be replacing the mattress with a better quality, non memory foam one, and when we do, we won’t be using this any longer. For now, I think it was worth the money. I don’t have any complaints so I’m giving it 5 stars. That doesn’t mean it upgraded our mattress - it just means that it does what I believe it was advertised to do and I got what I expected from it. ... show more

We have a memory foam mattress topper that was suppose to be cooling, which of course is actually very hot and makes you sweat at night. I thought I would try this mattress topper in hopes to get a little relief from sweating. I personally didn't have any issues with it being flat, but I always wash anything new, and it did come with instructions for fluffing it up before use. It did take 3 times through the dryer, flipping it around each time to get it fully dried since it's a king, but it's very puffy and soft. I toss and turn enough that the sheet on my side of the bed always comes off the corner by morning, but I slept so good the first night the sheets barely had a wrinkle. Probably one of the best nights sleep I've had in years. I didn't wake up every couple of hours from sweating or being uncomfortable. I'm actually amazed at how much of a difference a topper could make, my husband even slept better. Our mattress, plus a 4" memory foam topper is at least 16" tall, and this fit great. ... show more

    • It saved our mattress a number of times

I originally bought this as I had seen a youtuber using it and saying how comfortable it was. I bought it May 2021 and more than a year later I can say it doesn’t make much difference on our mattress comfort wise. I still kept it because of one thing. My daughter who was 3 at the time decided to climb on my bed with a small cup full of juice and guess what? She ended up dropping it (of course). I quickly got up to take the cover off and it had gone through my fitted sheet and onto this mattress pad. Scared she had ruined our brand new at the time mattress I carefully removed the pad only to be surprised. It didn’t go through to my mattress. One would think that would be a lesson learned. Nope she did it 2 more times and also had pee “accidents” while cosleeping with us in bed. None of those times has anything seeped through and gotten into our mattress. I didn’t intentionally buy this as a pee pad or to stop accidental liquid drops but it has saved us so for that very reason it deserves my five stars. Also I have quickly taken off everything after a spillage so maybe that has also maybe helped. ... show more

I was stuck on this or a foam topper, but didn't want to spend the money on one. Since this is for me when I sleep in my infant room, eventually she will sleep on this. And I didn't want something that was gonna slide around for her to get under and possibly trapped. This fit well, easy to put on. It's not fluffy and full, more like a thin duvet you'd use in the Summer time. It works for the price to help this hard twin mattress. I had to wash it a few times with vinegar and fabric softener in separate washes to get rid of the smellm I also let it air out in the laundry room for almost another whole day. And dried it on delicate with a sock with tennis balls to help fluff it ( I do this with my comforters and duvets too). ... show more

I really love the quality of this product. It is soft and very comfortable. I have a memory foam mattress and use only deep pocket cotton sheets (no microfiber or poly blend) for it. The finish of this mattress pad is just slippering enough that the sheets have a tendency to pull off overnight on the upper corners of the bed. Could be that I just thrash too much, but it's slightly annoying. Having said that, it is very comfortable so I am keeping the topper and will get some bands to keep the sheets from sliding. ... show more

I have a rather old Tempur-pedic mattress, which is still nice and comfy, but my partner finds it a bit firm for her tastes, and this helps make it better for both of us. Adds some soft cushiness while the underlying mattress still gives good support. It fits the mattress terrifically well - I bought a mattress cover from the store I bought the Tempur-pedic from, and it would slide off under the fitted sheet often.
