My husband and I bought a new bedroom suit, upgrading our mattress size to king. We opted for a cheap mattress since we were buying the suit, with plans to replace the mattress at a later date. The mattress we purchased was memory foam. Memory foam can make you sweat, and our mattress does just that. So much so that we will likely wind up having to replace it sooner than later, not saving anything in the long run. I purchased this cover for two reasons. First, to try to cut down on the sweating. Second, I can’t wash the mattress, so I always add a mattress pad or protector that can be washed if needed. My review of this pad is that it’s sort of like a thick, fluffy comforter. It’s kind of squishy. I am not sure what I was expecting but I was going for the feel of a pillow top. It doesn’t feel like that but it doesn’t feel like you just tucked a comforter under your sheet either. All I can say is that it made the mattress a lot softer. Whether that is a good thing or not is a matter of opinion. My husband doesn’t sleep well on it but didn’t sleep well on the mattress. He still sweats but not as much (didn’t on our old pillow top - it’s the mattress). I wouldn’t say that this would resolve that issue/cool you down that much. He also says it is too soft in comparison to our daughter’s (doesn’t have the pad on her bed). I tend to think that his issues can’t be resolved without replacing the mattress and am not going to blame them on the pad. The fact is, I doubt there is a pad on the market that would make him like our current mattress any more than he does. As for me? I like it. Our old pillow top had gotten too soft for me (your core changes quite a bit when you have twins!) and I was having trouble getting in and out of bed at night to check on the kids. My hips were hurting constantly and my back spasms made it more efficient for me to just sleep on the couch. The new mattress was a bit uncomfortable for me, and this pad improved my quality of sleep tremendously. It is soft enough that my hips don’t kill me when I lay on my side at night, my back spasms have mostly stopped so that I’m better able to get in and out of bed with the kids, and I just feel comfortable when I’m laying in it. I am not someone that has ever owned an expensive mattress and this is an improvement over the egg crates we used to use when I was a kid. My mom and sister liked it enough to get one for their beds and have liked using them so far (they have the same mattress and found it uncomfortable as well.... I have not laundered mine but my sister washes hers weekly and has not complained). At the end of the day, this mattress cover is not going to make your mattress feel like a pillow top or high end mattress if it isn’t. It also isn’t going to make your mattress feel like you crammed a comforter under your sheets. It doesn’t slide around or bunch up. It is not going to solve any problems with night sweats, and it is probably going to be too soft if you like a firm mattress. What it is likely to do is add some cushion to an otherwise too firm mattress. If your mattress is so unsupportive that your hips hurt when you lay on your side at night, it might help. If you’re tossing and turning and not sleeping well because of that sort of thing, it may help. If you just want to add a little cushion, it might help. If you just want a mattress cover you can launder, it would work (I don’t believe it is waterproof but we didn’t need that). As for us, it is an okay purchase. Didn’t solve my husband’s problems but solved mine and I’m grateful for that. I’m sure that we will soon be replacing the mattress with a better quality, non memory foam one, and when we do, we won’t be using this any longer. For now, I think it was worth the money. I don’t have any complaints so I’m giving it 5 stars. That doesn’t mean it upgraded our mattress - it just means that it does what I believe it was advertised to do and I got what I expected from it.

I love this mattress pad! It is so comfortable and fits the mattress well. I took it out of the package and fluffed it in the dryer for a few minutes. I was Pleasantly surprised how quickly it fluffed up. I look forward to sleeping on it every night.

We purchased a Sterns and Foster Studio 14" mattress and while it was very comfortable in the store it was quite firm when we got it home. The sales person warned us that it takes 30-60 days to break in a new mattress. Our solution besides having the kids jump on the bed each night was to purchase a mattress pad. This mattress pad provides a small amount of padding which should hopefully get us through the new mattress transition period. It looks nice and fits well and did not slide around at all after 1 night of sleep. If you are looking for something with A LOT of padding I would recommend a mattress topper. But this does the job for our needs.

I have been suffering comfort and quality sleep on a Tempur-Pedic Rhapsody since I purchased the mattress in 2010. Every single morning since then, I have woken up achy. Additionally, I would toss and turn due to pressure point issues and the heat emitted from the memory foam. Since I paid a lot for the mattress, I just sucked it up every night knowing that I could replace the mattress. To temporarily provide me with some relief, I place a fitted sheet over a duvet which seemed to help a little. Then, I discovered the EASELAND mattress cover and realized I didn't have much to lose. Of course, I was skeptical of reviews and if the mattress cover would really address the issues of the memory foam mattress feeling too hot and firm. The first morning after sleeping on top of this mattress cover, I realized what an idiot I was to have suffered for so long. I felt well-rested and did not have an achy back. I slept through the night without tossing and turning. Nor did I feel hot from the memory foam. This mattress cover adds a comfortable padding that not only softens my firm Tempur-Pedic mattress but seems to block the mattresses ability to respond to body temperature. I am not certain it is actually cool to touch but this cover most definitely addressed the hot memory foam mattress issue. I have owned this queen-sized cover for a month now and have not slept better in years. I never realized how miserable I have been until I I have been waking up feeling refreshed. My mattress still feels firm, which I prefer, but is no longer so jarring. The cover adds the right amount of light pillowy cushion. No, it is not waterproof but I believe the waterproofing material (latex?) may contribute to mattresses feeling warm (in addition to memory foam). I have a waterproof cover over my Tempur-Pedic mattress and under the EASELAND quilted cover so my mattress is still protected. Again, I am not certain if the new mattress cover is cooling per se or if it just sort of blocks the memory foam's reaction to one's body heat. It had most definitely addressed the hot mattress issue though. I actually purchased a second EASELAND mattress cover to use while the first one is being washed. I sure hope this review helps someone else who has endured a miserable sleeping experience on a hot and firm memory foam mattress and is desperate for some (inexpensive) relief!
