Very pleased with these. Wish I'd known about them 20 years ago when I first built this porch railing! These were very sturdy, I have no reservations about the strength. Not sure how the screws will last, they were black painted, but I live in a dry climate so I don't have to worry too much about rust. I found it easiest to mount these brackets to the wall, and then slide the board into them, and let gravity & friction hold them in place. If you screwed them first on the ends of the boards with the provided holes, it would be tough to maneuver them into place without a gap. The grey color worked out well for me and my paint scheme, I didn't have to paint them. ... show more

These were easy to install and looked great. Only criticism I have is the quality of the screws that came with them. They were essentially 1 inch drywall screws. I recommend buying longer, stronger screws for outdoor use.

These were nice quality brackets. The gray color is as shown. Turned out we didn't need them for our particular project so I returned them. But I recommend them and will buy them in the future if needed.

Sturdy and easy to install. Not quite sure if the screws will rust in the rain or not. Only time will tell. These brackets snuggly fit normal 2x4's. Pressure treated 2x4's need shaving down to fit these brackets. Would also like to see more than two screws attaching the bracket to the lumber ends. Update a year later, all the screws rusted. Had to replace all the screws with stainless. ... show more
