    • A Long Review of the M2
Let's start this with a few pros and cons: Pro: The build. It's about as big as I expected, which is probably bigger than most, since I'm 6'5 and all of 300 lbs (and mostly leg). From the frame to the brakes to the tires, it looks the part of a mini-scooter that can last. 400 miles in and most everything seems to be holding up. Con: the battery/motor combo. With the size and weight limits, this scoot would've been better served by a 72 V setup, though I imagine there were weight considerations there too. As it is, the M2 is adequate but not exceptional in speed and acceleration and its endurance falters under the stress my girth puts it under. It does my 23 mile one way commute, but I have to be frugal in using its maximum power... also, it doesn't have regenerative braking or cruise, which would've been nice, but aren't deal-breakers. Pro (small con): the layout. Almost everything on this is in a generally intuitive spot, from the turn signals to the horn and most everything in between. The battery gauge is kind of counter-intuitive, so I wired in a voltmeter to make up the shortfall in its design. The phone holder is not up to the task of holding most flagship phones in a case (it didn't come close to accommodating my S23 Ultra in an Otterbox case nor my work IPhone 12, but modifying both I got it to work after a fashion). Con: storage, rather lack thereof. I haven't explored the saddlebags they mentioned mainly because of how low other users have claimed they are, but also because they were unable to hold my helmet. The lack of mounting hard points forced me to get a bit creative in mounting a rear trunk, but I made it work. That brings me to another minor nitpick: you will need to adjust the suspension if you're loading it north of 220 lbs because this thing sits pretty low. I was scraping on moderate to light turns until I figured it out. That brings me to a plus: decent customer service. They've been pretty responsive to most of my queries within 24-36 hours (I haven't had a need for immediate responses yet). They really should have some sort of forum for navigating the licensing of these, though. Their assembly video instructions are adequate provided you're slightly better than a pure beginner, but the written instructions leave a lot of gaps. Pros: features. I'm a firm believer in both safety and security and apparently so is Eahora. I added a dashcam (with rear camera) and Samsung Smart Tag to it, but it came with an alarm (with immobilization) and front wheel lock on it. The battery box is secured by a locking seat. By the way, Eahora needs to find a way to secure the seat when it's lifted to remove the battery because removing the battery always seems to drop the seat on my arm or hand. The lights are mostly bright, noticeable, and well positioned- the brake light needing to be brighter being the only issue. My verdict: I fell in love with this after the first commute. Over that 22 miles, it was comfortable, responsive, quiet, and a head-turner. I got more than a few stares when people saw a guy the size of a linebacker stand up from something slightly larger than a moped. Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the removable battery. Definitely a plus for apartment dwellers despite its 30+ pound weight. It gets me about 25-30 miles of distance with level 2 speed (which the system defaults to), topping out at 35-38 mph. Level 3 will get you another 3-6 mph, but reduce your range precipitously. It's a joy to ride. I wanted to give this 4.5 stars, but there were too many minor cons for me to round up. ... show more
