  • Waste of money/ terrible product
Color: black2X
Save your money. This product is terrible. The IR is weak, the product feels cheaply made, the night vision is sub-par, the the battery compartment lid pops off randomly, the viewing screen is too bright and very tiny, the eye piece is uncomfortable, and there are no adjustable settings (on/off/adjust ir brightness). There are several products at half the price that work twice as good (BNISE night vision binoculars are a great choice). ... show more

  • Not worth it even for children play
Color: black2X
This digital NVG device is flawed in many ways. It is fixed at 5x magnification but the IR light isn't capable of reaching distances at which the camera is fixed at. The screen at which you look at through the tube resembles watching a movie in a theater, only you're seated 2 football fields away from the movie screen.... and the movie is 5x zoomed in that you can't tell what you're looking at. I wouldn't reccomend this product for any use other than for looks. ... show more

  • Good for the Price Point...not for CQB
You get what you pay for and you and NV/IR optics range from the low hundreds to the high thousands. I wanted a low cost riffle mountable optic to see in the dark with. I can do this to an extent. Price: I got what I paid for. Most of the optics in this price range were not riffle mountable or the vender advised against it. I didn’t get to range test it but it came with a helmet and a riffle clamp. Performance: if you’re accustomed to pricey military grade NVGs & IR optics, you’ll immediately see the drawbacks. The field of vision is very narrow. This is common in NVGs yet in this particular optic it seems tactically inefficient to mount on a riffle. It zooms by default. You’ll have to play with the dials to get the picture clear. I purchased the optic for home defense to pursue envaders under the cloak of darkness. Unfortunately, the zoom and the small screen make it a poor optic for CQB. Another tactical defect is the brightness of the screen. It’s adjustable and hardly noticeable...yet Charlie would see it in the jungle. While it also comes with a helmet mount, this is not the monocle I would outfit my able soldiers with. What is the best use case for this optic? It looks cool on an AR-15 if you want to achieve SOCOM poser look. This could be used for hunting to scan surroundings from a static position. I wouldn’t attempt to walk around in the dark with this. You can drive in military spec NVGs...not this. Nonetheless this is a great entry level device. It will help you get familiar with IR optics prior to upgrading. I’m waiting on an IR laser and may update my review based on its performance. ... show more

  • Best beginner pvs14, but get an external IR light.
Color: black2X
I did not like the integrated it light, it’s just not powerful enough to use for varmint hunting at night. I purchased an it light and this thing works fantastic. I would like a 1times lense to aid in the walking around at night, the 2x takes some getting used too. But again, this is not a 2500 dollar unit. For the price it is definitely worth it. In the day time the color is good. ... show more

  • Very Nice NVD
Color: black2X
I used night vision in the military. Those units are heavily built, and are very expensive. This unit, while probably not as durable, is better in many ways. It can be used in the daylight, and the screen resolution is excellent, with natural looking colors. At night, according to the instructions the image is supposed to be black and white, but its in color-albeit a little washed out. Have not tried it out in the woods or total darkness yet. The only drawback is the minimum zoom level is 2X. I would have preferred 1X because that makes movement in the dark easier, but I have adapted to the 2X zoom and cam move comfortably. ... show more

  • The first time I used it the battery lid broke and batteries flew out.
Color: black2X
This is the worst optic I have ever used. Poor design. Heavy. Sight pic is very small and it wasn’t even the right one. This one was beat up. I also returned this over two months ago along with my helmet, radio, headset, counterweight pouch, and mounting bracket as per customer service. I have called over twenty times and still no return. They have screwed me out of 600 dollars and now my sig pistol cannot be returned. That’s another hundred dollars. ... show more

  • Another case of "Ya get what you pay for".
Color: black2X
I was in the market for functional night vision, and these seemed like they would fit the bill. While the night vision capabilities do function, and the automatic switching between night vision and day vision is nice, these are not what I was looking for. The price point was nice for low grade NVD's. but the negatives offset that by a long road. 1. The instruction "manual" was 1 page, with half of the instruction in Chinese, and the other half in very poor English. 2. The cover to the battery compartment broke after opening it about 3 times. 3. The view screen in tiny, and over the left eye, canted at 45 degrees. Coupled with the 2x magnification, this means at 10 feet, your field of vision is about 1 foot wide. 4. To go along with 3, the view screen seems so far away, that it feels like you are straining to see that tiny screen. Its like watching a TV on the other side of the room through a paper towel tube. Now I admit that I was spoiled by military grade NVD's in the past, and didn't expect that level of quality. But, these are not useable in an active environment, or even just moving around a darkened house. ... show more

  • Great
Color: black2X
I utilize these for Airsoft, so for my use case these are great. In order for them to work there has to be a IR emitter. If you block the onboard one with tape or what have you, you will see nothing. So utilizing the onboard one is the best. There is a 2X zoom on these to walking with them initially is a little weird but after time training with them you will be able to get used to the zoom. These can pick up IR lasers, and with distance you can see the beam from the laser, but you mostly only see the dot. The included J-arm is a little jank so I would recommend buying a real steel one, as well as a real steel rhino mount for your helmet. ... show more
