  • This plane is a dream to fly.
Style: Ready-To-Fly
I like that it comes with everything you need to fly. Instructions are clear. The plane is powerful and has lots of features. It is very fun to fly.

  • Great first plane. Another flyer in my club bought the same plane
Style: Ready-To-Fly
Great for learning on. I really like this plane a lot. I upgraded the charger to a Spectrum S2200, because the charger that comes with it takes 6 to 8 hours to charge. I would highly recommend a better charger than the one that comes with it. Also, get like 3 batteries so when you fly you get a lot of time in the air. I have pulled off 20 minute flights with the stock battery. I would also recommend getting a battery checker. You do not want to go less than 30% capacity with the LiPO's. The only issue is that I have had to epoxy the battery door a little bit to reinforce it. I also epoxied the wings together. This was so simple I am not even going to take a star off from it. Read the manual before flying to understand what all the switches do on the transmitter. I also recommend having an instructor there so you are successful. ... show more

  • Great plane for beginners
Style: Ready-To-Fly
I fly many RC electric planes, this is the most stable comfortable plane I have. My 14 yr old grand son is flying it as well as a trainer.

  • Easy to setup and learn.
Style: Ready-To-Fly
Great airplane for beginners. If it's your first time, go to a place with experienced people around to give you directions to not crash your toy on the first flight.

  • Excellent First "Trainer" Plane once you install larger landing gear!
Style: Bind-N-Fly
So, a little back story.. I've been flying Microsoft Flight Sim for DECADES now, in various releases, so that experience in various aircraft, flying, and flight aerodynamics, landing, helped for certain. But ever since I was a kid, I was more interested in helicopters than planes for the ability to hover and put down pretty much anywhere it is safe to do so. In recent years I've been flying r/c helicopters, moving from fixed pitch, to full collective pitch, (began in my late 50's, I'm mid 60's now!) After getting better and better with those, and having more and more FUN flying, once I stopped CRASHING, I just recently decided it might be fun to try a plane finally.. Bought this MONSTER sized plane after reading reviews, and watching online videos of people flying this one. Easy to assemble, but immediately agreed the wheels that come with it are too small for many surfaces you'll want the option of landing on. (the only reason I took away 1 star!) Local hobby shop had larger ones and on they went! AND.. while at hobby shop I decided to try my hand at Real Flight Simulator 9.5 while no one else was using it! Picked THIS plane, took off fine, flew around fine, but EVERY time I tried to put it down for a landing I'd end up smooshed into tall grass around the airstrip! ZERO "depth perception"! (Same happens with MS FS til you get used to the graphics!) NOT very encouraging! Went home and changed out wheels, MUCH better! Powered up w/ TX and checked flight surfaces one final time.. made nose wheel adjustments until it "taxied" straight on driveway, then after the winds calmed to mostly "still" before sunset.. brought it out to a HUGE park field I have nearby.. (Waited until the only other person there drove out so I could concentrate and fly "safe").. pointed her into the "wind".. HELD my breath, and pushed the throttle forward. She pretty much took off on her own. I quickly found that my helicopter flight skills transferred VERY nicely, even the rudder assisted turns were beautiful.. needless to say, "SAFE" mode was awesome to have for a "beginner"! All the while I was getting used to her, I was thinking about that FIRST landing attempt and hoping I wasn't going to KILL this beautiful model on my FIRST time out! (Did not purchase GPS or Landing Assist modules) So.. to shorten this some, NOT only did it land BEAUTIFULLY, on ROUGH grass terrain, without noseing into the ground (Thanks to bigger wheels!) But it did so THREE times after 2 more flights, still on the one battery charge, used just under 1/2 the battery ("SMART" telemetry) because this thing EASILY "Floats" around at 1/2 throttle if you want it to! (calm conditions) I could have stayed and flew longer, but decided I'd MORE than accomplished a successful "Maiden' flight" (for both model and MYSELF!) and it had gone FAR better than I'd hoped! Also, Once in the air, you'll be grateful for that "Monster" size because of how well you can see it and what it's doing in response to your inputs! And as I say.. she'll just float along for you if you go easy on throttle and keep an eye you're keeping her moving forward enough so it doesn't stall. She'll also fly PLENTY fast if you want, but as stated, you better have a TON of open space if you're a beginner! Finally.. this plane has made me wish I'd started flying these MUCH sooner! Awesome "first" plane for beginners, and a TON of fun once you get your first take offs and landings behind you. Oh.. as others have said, it's VERY quiet in the air! I couldn't even hear it unless I purposely flew it over or near myself. Good and bad, won't disturb people, but you have to pay attention to throttle and plane because you can't hear the throttle unless it's close to you. Excellent Beginner Plane! Buy 3 or 3.5" "lightweight" wheels to help while learning! Hope this helps! ... show more

  • Excellent Trainer. Had electronics issues that required replacement.
Style: Bind-N-Fly
The media could not be loaded. Overall a very good trainer. This was a little difficult to set up. The gyro in the Flight Controller was bad and it kept giving me nose up attitude. Had to go full nose down with full down trim to bring it down. It would have crashed in SAFE mode due to the nose up tendancy. HOWEVER, Horizon Hobby is exemplary in their customer support. They replaced ALL of the electronics (Flight Controller and the Receiver). After that, it flew like a kitten. Just a very easy plane to fly. I think I just had a bad one (that can happen). ... show more

Tops plane, had the old version, too, wild stick movements way soothed in beginner mode. Ez to see, don't fly in early sun! Thanks!
