  • Does triple duty and does it well!
We got the Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx mainly because we wanted to tackle a few problems at once- and it has truly delivered. With two energetic puppies constantly tracking in dust and shedding everywhere, plus our indoor hydroponic garden and a whole jungle of houseplants, clean air is a top priority in our home. We also live in the desert, where the humidity is usually in the single digits, so we needed something to keep both us and our plants happy. This unit has checked all those boxes and more. We keep it in our open-concept living room, which is the hub of our home, and it definitely makes a noticeable difference throughout that entire downstairs space. One unexpected perk is how much it’s helped with my baking- I used to have to constantly adjust for the dry air when making bread, but now the dough behaves SO much better. Our plants also show us right away if we forget to refill the water and they perk up again as soon as the humidity is back on track. The cooling feature is another huge plus. It really does work as a powerful fan and can cool down the room surprisingly quickly. I do wish the oscillation felt more noticeable- there’s a setting for it, but the unit itself doesn’t physically turn, so you don’t get that sweeping air movement you'd expect from a traditional fan. That said, the airflow is strong enough to get the job done even without it. I appreciate the app features, especially since it doubles as a remote control. I often use it when a puppy is curled up on my lap and I don’t want to disturb them. The app also sends a notification when the water tank is empty, so I don’t have to keep checking on it myself. As for noise, it's usually fine for background use, but we sometimes turn it down or pause it if we’re watching a movie and want things extra quiet. Maintenance-wise, because our natural humidity is so low, we end up refilling the tank every 24 to 36 hours. While that might sound like a lot, it’s straightforward and hasn’t felt like a hassle. In areas with higher humidity in the air, this wouldn't need to be done nearly as often. Overall, this is definitely a big investment- it’s not cheap- but if you’re looking for something that truly improves air quality, adds much-needed humidity, and cools effectively, it’s a fantastic all-in-one option. Whether it’s worth the price will depend on your priorities, but for us, it’s been absolutely worth it. ... show more

  • Expensive, but effective.
This is an expensive piece of equipment, so I wanted to live with it a while rather than firing off a review after a few days. Now that I've lived with the Dyson unit for a couple of months, I'm satisfied that it's earned its place in my house. I should note that I have not needed nor used the humidifier feature of the unit. I"ll probably need that this winter, but not now. I'm speaking only about the purifying and air flow functions. The unit comes packaged like a Fabrege egg. It will take you longer to unpack it than to read the instructions. And given the price point, that is a good thing. Just be sure to check every nook and cranny for cardboard stabilizers and protective films. Use is fairly intuitive, but the instructions are pretty clear. A PDF version is available on-line if you don't feel like getting out a microscope to read the print ones. The design is typically Dyson. This is about as attractive as an appliance can get. I actually like the look, although I would have chosen a black or silver base rather than the gold-toned one if it had been offered for review. Assembly is simple. The unit is surprisingly stout. I can easily pick it up to move it, but when I do, the weight does surprise me. It is quiet. Even at the highest settings, it's not annoyingly loud. On medium and low settings, it makes for just the right level of white noise to induce sleep. I have the unit in part of the house that seemed to be a collecting point for stale air, cooking odors and hot spots. For the first week or two, I wondered if the unit was actually doing anything, then one night I realized I wasn't smelling the dinner from three hours ago, and that part of the house was slightly cooler than the other parts of the house. Usually, it would be sweltering while the rest of the house was pleasant. I then noticed that the hot spot in the hallway was missing and that I wasn't having to dust as often. The big test came on July 4th, where neighbors seem to be trying to re-enact the Battle of Yorktown with fireworks. Inside this year? No smoke smell. I like that the remote magnetically attaches to the top of the unit. I hate that the remotes, buttons are so low contrast that no one in the house can see them without turning on a light or getting their reading glasses. Ditto the screen at the bottom of the unit. It's small, which is good for not being an unwanted nightlight, but it's not easy to read. It's suppose one could load the phone app, but I dislike loading my phone down with stuff like that. And I dislike having to go to a phone app to use something I'm standing right in front of. TL;DR. If you can spare the $1000 and live in a house that hold odors, has uneven air flow, and you have any air-carried allergies at all, this is a good buy. It has minor annoyances, but it does to the job it promises to do. That's rare of any tech or appliance these days. ... show more

  • Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx: Worth Every Penny for Comfort and Quality
The Dyson Purifier Humidify+Cool PH2 De-NOx is an investment in comfort and well-being, and it's worth every penny. From the moment I turned it on, I was impressed. The cooling function works wonderfully, creating a comfortable environment in my living room, even on the hottest days. But the real magic is in the humidifying capabilities. We live in a dry climate, which can be tough on our skin and sinuses. This Dyson unit keeps the humidity at the perfect level, creating a much more comfortable and healthy living space. I was pleasantly surprised by how long the water reservoir lasts. Even in our dry climate, we don't have to refill it as often as I initially anticipated. The unit is also incredibly quiet, which is a huge plus. The air purification features are an added bonus, ensuring that the air we breathe is clean and fresh. Yes, the price is high, but that's to be expected with Dyson's reputation for quality and innovation. This unit is a premium product, and it delivers premium results. What I love: Effective cooling: Keeps the living room cool and comfortable. Perfect humidity control: Maintains the ideal humidity level, even in a dry climate. Long-lasting water reservoir: Doesn't require frequent refills. Quiet operation: Doesn't disturb the peace and quiet. Excellent air purification: Provides clean and fresh air. Dyson quality: Built to last and delivers premium performance. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a high-quality air purifier, humidifier, and cooler. It's an investment in your health and comfort that you won't regret. ... show more
