The Dyson HEPA Big+Quiet Formaldehyde purifier is Dyson’s quietest, most powerful air purifier yet, engineered from the ground up, to evenly purify large spaces.² Cone aerodynamics create powerful jets of air to project purified air around the room, and the purifier is acoustically engineered to operate at lower noise levels of just 55.6dBA at its highest power setting. An advanced 360 HEPA H13 grade filter¹ captures allergens and 99.97% of fine particles. Removes gases and odors.⁶ Destroys formaldehyde, permanently.³ Product is intended for commercial use only.¹Particle challenge by DEHS oil specified in EN1822 within a chamber specified in ASTM F3150. Tested in Max Mode, for whole machine efficiency above 99.95%.²Testing for PM2.5 purification completed in a large testing chamber following relevant Dyson testing methods. Results may vary in practice.³Third party full machine testing based on GB/T 18801-2022 formaldehyde cumulative clean mass testing with continuous injection until plateau of formaldehyde CADR is achieved. To be honest I was little skeptic when I decided to buy this air purifier. I have already had a Dyson hot/cold fan/air purifier. It is alright. I have dogs and they shed and they’re “smelly” no matter how hard I try to keep them and my house cleaned. My house still smells like dogs and dogs hair everywhere. Judging by the price, I was assumed this Dyson should work. Good thing it was on sales so I got it. It’s a GAME CHANGER. I live with two dogs, desert dust, and seasonal allergies—and let me tell you, the difference was noticeable within hours. The air felt crisper, I woke up breathing easier, and best of all: The lingering dog smell in the house? Gone. Even near their beds and crates, the air feels clean—not just covered up, but actually purified. This model uses a HEPA H13-grade filter (traps 99.97% of particles), plus a formaldehyde sensor and filter, which most brands don’t offer. I also love the real-time air quality readings (PM2.5, VOCs, etc.) in the app—it’s satisfying to actually see when the air improves. Pros: Removes pet smells, dust, allergens, and VOCs. Extremely quiet. Sleek, modern design. Long-lasting filters (~1 year) Cons: High price tag but it’s Dyson. Filter replacements are expensive. Doesn’t double as heater or humidifier (some Dyson models do). For some reason, it said connected to app on the description but the one I got doesn’t. No remote control.     • A Little Different (Postive) Take On The "Basic Simplicity" Of This Model
Ok so I have read other reviewer's reservations on this model, comparing it to the BP03 and BP04 and pointing out this model's (BP06) "lack of features" in comparison. Many recommend going with the BP03 and BP04 as they have a remote and smart phone connectivity as well as sensors that read out a bunch of different pollutants in the air, etc. I have a different take and I wanted to share it here. There are a number of reasons why I prefer this model over the other, more feature-rich, models: 1) I like the neutral color palette of this model (BP06). The silver and white is a bright and goes with just about any decor. Additionally, I find the White/Silver (compared to the others) classier looking. Granted this is both a personal-taste and room-decor based assessment. That said, the Blue and Gold colors of the feature-rich models would not mesh with my esthetic nor my decor. 2) I try to eliminate the use of WIFI in my home (everything is wired) so I am not interested in another wireless device putting out EMF pollution in my home. This model does not even support wireless, which is wonderful as I don't need to disable it. Especially when placed in your bedroom, no one needs another EMF emitting device bathing your environment while you sleep. 3) With less technology comes less components that can break. Being a repair tech, I realize that these features come with added design & component complexity as well as interdependent technologies that become a node for potential break-down. With simpler designs and feature-sets comes increased reliability due to simpler design circuitry and less components. 4) I *love* the 1 button design. Just a single button to operate. The 2 fan speeds which you can toggle with a simple press are perfect. I don't need anything more than low and high. I don't want nor need to choose from 8 different fan speeds. 1 for silent operation and 2 for quiet but high air-volume operation. Perfect. 5) The extra features offered are (to my personality and use-case) fun gimmicks that are cool for the first few weeks, and then we all get back to our lives and don't even think about checking all the sensor read-outs. I just hit the button on the BP06 to set the fan speed and I walk away and get on with my life. 6) While minimal in total cost savings, the $100 lower MSRP is a savings that is the cherry on top. I neither need nor want a remote that I may either lose or that attaches to the front and breaks up the clean esthetic. To be fair, while I think the "air direction" feature is cool, once again, it is another set of gears and motors that may become another node of breakdown. The less gears and motors, the less that can go wrong. I want these air cleaners (especially at these prices) to last me a decade or more. Knowing I have a simple, streamlined, high-quality design in the BP06, contributes to my confidence that this model might outlast their more feature-laden siblings as it lessens the opportunities for malfunctions. In the end, this beautifully-designed and spartan-featured option in the Dyson Big+Quiet lineup actually meets the needs of someone looking for a simple yet powerful air cleaner. While many, and even perhaps most, will disagree and opt for a fuller featured model in this lineup, there is an audience for simplicity.     • Don't buy this may cause the health risk!
After 3 months of use, it starts producing weird smell, like gas or vinegar. The smell causes headaches and stomach upset! Dyson customer service is absolute terrible. I was told to bring it to the service center which is located about an hour driving from my house or send them by UPS, which takes about 3-4 weeks to fix. There is no service available to visit home to fix. Just don't buy anything from Dyson. ... show more

This is not remotely a “smart” product. No WiFi or Bluetooth. No remote. Just a low and high speed fan. No intelligent handling of, well — anything. I tried controlling it with a separate air quality sensor and wifi power outlet. But the air purifier defaults to off, even if it was turned on. So a brief power outage will result in it not running. The noise level on low is excellent. And the unboxing experience was simple. Overall, I really regret this purchase. I own the higher end BP03 as well with smart features and app integration etc. and I think the BP03 is worth the extra expense instead of this one. ... show more

    • Faulty Unit - Bad Dyson Service
I too have had the unit off-gas a putrid vinegar smell after about a year of use. The filters are marketed to last 5 years, and there was no warning indicator on the device that filters needed changed. However when I spoke with customer service online they insisted the carbon filter needed replaced. So we started there. It helped, but did not completely fix the issue. I have been waiting now almost 6 weeks for the replacement HEPA filter to be delivered to me, after a lot more back and forth and incompetent address entry and shipping errors by their local service center. Unfortunately I also see my model is no longer offered in white, just blue, so i probably can’t even get it replaced with an equivalent unit anymore even after only a year. The warranty covers at least 2 years. Such a shame these models are nearly $1k originally and the Dyson service and reliability is so bad. ... show more

We have absolutely loved this product!! We could tell a difference in our air quality the 1st day of use. It's worth the price!. There are even wheels on the bottom to be able to move it around easily. It's huge!!
